@_arlenetellez @dcmireles I think that it's wrong for institutions to be able to censor a student athletes social media because they should be allowed to express themselves however they want. If a student athlete has to check with someone before posting something, that's more at the professional level.
@jahisareth @dcmireles I think one of the reasons it's hard to increase diversity is because once a person of color gets hired for the position, they may feel alienated and it be harder to connect with other faculty because their the only faculty of color. @dcmireles #UCR50
@EstherLee06 I'm still struggling if student athletes should be compensated because if it's a sport they love to play that could take away their intrinsic motivation and also put more energy on the sport if they got paid and even lesser time on academics. @dcmireles
@Karengosorio Wow!!! When colleges are paying that much money to coaches and not the faculty it makes me question the intent of those colleges and their mission statements. They rather be known for their sports track record rather than being known as a top tier school for learning. @dcmireles
@ljohn014 In my opinion, colleges invest more funding in their sports rather than their education because they might feel that they will attract more students to their school if they have a good sports team because students are drawn to what's going to entertain them. #ucr50 @dcmireles
