時人

[時人 @xodidblue]

It's autumn, crickets,
Whether you may
Chirp or not.

Soseki Natsume

rattling
ramen steaming
fallen leaves rolling

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

winter road
no companions
but wind

Basho

little poppy
even on the road to death
go where the others go

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

the sight
of the first blossoms
extends my life by seventy-five years

Basho

flower
opens mouth
scent

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

petals drifting
downstream
yet still beautiful

Basho

blossoms like starfish
bear a knobby child
the quince moms laugh

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

rattling
ramen steaming
rustling fallen leaves

[時人 @xodidblue]

It's autumn, crickets,
Whether you may
Chirp or not.

Soseki Natsume

rattling
ramen steaming
fallen leaves rolling

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

rattling
ramen steaming
rustling, fallen leaves

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

east and west
one shared sadness
autumn wind

Basho

no longer names
last dandelion seed trembling
on this signpost

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

cool morning
chrysanthemum perfume
among ancient gods

Basho

at a southern temple, camellias
among moktak knocks
each thud says snow is coming

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

witnessing the beauty
of a painful world
through its flowers

Basho

leaves
why colored so deep purple
leaves

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

come and see
the real flowers
of this painful world

Basho

drunk, writing a line
why is it snowing
in the mirror?

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

iris blossoms
the traveler
forgets the road

Basho

tall grass chorus
as wind blows
forget the road

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

the one Gilgamesh lived
mortal, this star, the earth
is that so sad?

[時人 @xodidblue]

summer moon
three names
sharing one wine glass

Basho

empty moon
what are these glasses
holiday again tomorrow

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

a quiet drifting cloud
somewhere within
lightning

Basho

a paper boat
to the current
surrender

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

the owl is happy
in his solitude
autumn dusk

Issa

temple gate
no old dog
shadows of leaves

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

the pleasure
of sleeping late
on an autumn morning

Basho

I do not try to understand
Bab
today's food for the heart

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

autumn moon
some nights
refuse to be predicted

Basho

no wind
geese in the night sky
not a cry

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

hackberries falling
the soft thunder
of birds taking flight

Basho

Peregrine Robin
a bit of a bad hair day
such wind

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

sudden lightning
no enlightenment
only the night

Basho

summer downpour
breaking on umbrellas
last rain

me

[時人 @xodidblue]

will I grow old
like you?
autumn butterfly

Issa Kobayashi

be well
summer calls from afar
high and blue the sky

me
