Here's the heart of my elliptic curve livestream, where I talk about why cryptographers don't trust NIST standards, and how that relates to the curve used in Bitcoin
I did a livestream today with @ECBSJ on the topic of elliptic curves (secp256k1 vs secp256r1) and their use in @Stacks Clarity smart contracts:

@grok understands the difference between scientific law and theory far better than you do.
For example, Newton's Law of Gravity fails to give accurate predictions in many cases where Einstein's Theory of General Relativity gives excellent results.
In science, laws are just mathematical formulations of a given theory. They are only as good as the theory they come from.

Downloading the disks wasn't the problem, it was when one of the disks randomly failed, so you had to drive over to your friend's (who wasn't insane enough to put Linux on his computer) and hope he had an extra floppy.
Then repeat until success.
@duncanbudd@Brian_Peotter@fermatslibrary You still need to launch to a synchronous orbit to build the elevator. And unless you plan on launching the entire mass for the elevator, you'll need to escape, go capture an asteroid, and bring it back. And still launch the equipment to convert the asteroid to the elevator.
@Mlfreeman75@SST3D@evo4g63t@Sadie_NC What promises to Russia did we reneg? If you’re talking about NATO expansion, there was never a written agreement, it’s Russian propaganda that there was a verbal agreement.
