If you hear oil, gas, and coal, and think of poor people being able to afford a fridge, significantly increasing their access to food, or premature babies surviving thanks to an incubator, or modern electronics, or many of the infinite amazing things only possible thanks to hydrocarbons, you are an adult with a working brain.

If instead you think of global warming, climate crisis, and bad things, you are an NPC whose brain is just an extension of your TV.

The benefits of hydrocarbons are infinite, and your life would be completely unrecognizable without them. The harms are infinitesimal in comparison. That's why absolutely everybody seeks to increase their consumption of hydrocarbons, silly virtue-signalling notwithstanding. If you ignore all of this, and focus on the insane hysteria around CO2 destroying the weather, you consume too much university and TV.
