A child psychiatrist who raped and sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl at his HSE workplace is being sued by her family.

Amirul Arif Bin Mohd Yunos, of Hollystown, Dublin 15, was sentenced in December 2024 to eight-and-a-half years in prison on eight charges of sexually abusing and grooming the teenager.

Documents lodged in the High Court show that the parents of the girl, as well as the young woman herself, who is now aged 18, are suing the doctor as well as the HSE.

The doctor was formally assigned to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Clonskeagh, Dublin.

🌴 our eyes met. so then… but… it was like i had seen him somewhere a lot… i mean, i only saw his eyes because he was wearing a mask, but just from the eyes it felt like someone i had seen seen a lot. so i was like… “what? ah, who is that… i’ve seen this person so many times somewhere.” he felt so familiar. he was so familiar that i was like, “what is this?” and i turned around. and when i looked at the way he walked, it felt even more familiar. i had my earphones in, but i took them out and called, “park-ssi!” but he didn’t respond. so then i thought, “ah, is it not him?” but just in case, i called him on my phone and asked, “where are you?” and jinyoung said, “was that you just now? was that you, hyung? hyung, right? the one in the red running shoes, that’s you, right?” so i said, “oh, it is you, right?” and we realized it was each other. so i turned around, ran back, talked to him for a bit, then i went back to running and jinyoung went on his way.

seriously, i’m not lying. it was like a movie, our eyes just met like this. i’d seen those eyes so many times. so i was like, “what? where have i seen those?” then when i called out “park-ssi!” he didn’t hear me. so i called him, and right away, as soon as he picked up, not even “hyung, what’s up?” but right as he answered, “it’s you, right?” we must have been thinking the exact same thing

I once guested a few times at a small concert venue called Move Hall. Back then we would rehearse together, practicing in the basement studio. Someone asked me something he was really curious about: "Hyung, until when do I have to keep getting allowance money from my mom?" That's when I realized how much actual struggles they were bumping into. And with all that, they had the courage to actually say it out loud.

What I answered was right now it might feel that way to you, but I can guarantee you this: if you keep going the way you are, you'll be people who've built things up one by one, step by step. That means you'll never collapse easily. Later, when you really make it, you'll be people that absolutely cannot be compared to those who suddenly got big overnight. So for now, just tell your parents you're sorry and ask them to wait a little longer. It's okay. You haven't done anything wrong. Coz from what I can see, your music is excellent. It's so good. You're really doing so, so well.

But honestly even with that, I didn't predict they would become this successful. Like, really really successful.

Back then in the company, my nickname was 'DAY6’s father'. People would say 'Oh, DAY6’s dad is here. Father has arrived.' And you know what? It suits me, right?

It was just really heartwarming. Seeing those friends, who endured through all that hardship but is now performing in bigger and bigger venues, makes me so proud. And for their latest concert, they're doing it at their home stadium. From once playing to 400 or 500 people, now theyre filling a 50k-seat venue... it's just amazing. I'm really happy for them.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in Pasir Gudang last month for allegedly raping, sodomising, and sexually assaulting five children aged two months to five years.
