The key word in your discussion is necessarily. There are way more factors than just athleticism that would contribute to American dominance. We are the largest CAPITALISTIC society in the world...driven by $$$. If low income communities thought SOCCER was the key to getting out of poverty...if the sport were HISTORICALLY a financial/status driver in this country...our best players would be just as skilled as messi...yet slightly faster, stronger and bigger with the same endurance. Maybe not...but maybe.
@TheBrancaShow Naw...not a gay sport. Definitely Euro though. And definitely a great version of the anthem. Whitney best...this second... and Ray Charle's "America The Beautiful" (honorable mention)...are the 3 best patriotic songs.
@GoleadorSucioso This is get. But it's not about USMNT. They've already failed for multiple years. This is about...for this competition...our country coming together. I can say F... USMNT and still want the US to do well in the sport.
@TheDadward@CoachGilly6 OH...I remember him with Atlanta. GREAT MLS player. Just really bothered me when I saw that. I'm a Fulham fan so I've seen a few of his Newcastle games. Always respected his play.
@gustavodias1992 Not going to let you spread lies. He doesn't hate foreigners. Heck...he makes a LOT of $$$ off foreigners. He dislikes illegal immigration...as did Barack Obama. There is a difference.
@EdsonFiv Uh...a USMNT has never put in a 45 minutes like that first half. I mean...i'd never heard of Malik Tillman before today. Now I'm hoping Fulham tries to buy him.
@yElff_ Your comment is a little disingenuous...and I think you know this. The circumstances that contribute to the NFL and the NBA being way more popular in this country have lead to our best athletes choosing those sports over football (soccer).
@undisputed104 No. It's a game played by kicking a ball with your feet. Come on now. I love me some DUVAL...and I've watched American football for over 40 years...but the rest of the world has the naming correct.
@ColorMeBoom@docpjo It's very LOS ANGELES to arrive late to games. It's what we do. It's not visually great...but the show and the game made up for it. You should see Laker games, Rams games...and even Raider games back in the day.
I get your angst though.
There is something political going on with USMNT in the US. That...and the athletic talent in under privileged communities doesn't view it as a way out. HISTORICALLY it's not a sport pushed by lower income communities...and the best athletes gravitate towards american football.
