Great thread to read.
As sad as it is, I think with the consistent lack of talent, direction, and care displayed over the last few years, nothing less than a personnel shakeup is needed.
🚨 BREAKING: More major changes appear to be taking place behind the scenes of Call of Duty: Zombies.
Following widespread backlash to Black Ops 7's finale in Rex Infernus, sources indicate another significant shakeup has occurred within Treyarch's narrative department. 🧵
Been like this for quite a while now. Massively downhill since a fantastic quest in Terminus, and awful throughout pretty much the entirety of BO7. They just want you to do random things with no indication for the sake of it to prolong the hunt. No sense or story integration now
I think the egg steps for Rex are rather ridiculous, it’s like I’m doing some superstition to get a free raygun out of the box, why do I need to ADS for 30s while standing on something, or jump on one thing for 30s to do a step with no indication, so weird
I not going to be hunting this EE further. This hunt has ended the exact same way as the last and I'm not going to sit here and watch others go through the egg with leaked steps whilst I receive all the backlash for doing things legitimately. A shame for BO7 to end this way...
astra malorum was cool
totenreich was okay, except for the awful boss fight
paradox junction was bad
rest were all time awful maps
the final ever zombies map being overshadowed by mw4 is quite funny
narrative was the worst of any media i've ever consumed start to finish
BO7 quests are so awful, the majority of steps are solved by accident where the person who did it doesn't know what they did. 8 hours and most of it is sitting around with nothing to go off. As long as it takes ages its epic though I guess
