@TheCinesthetic For me, it's Jack Lemmon in "Missing" (1982).
It's not the very best film that he ever starred in (though it's very good). But what he is asked to do with that character, and how he does it, is the pinnacle of screen acting.

@mtaibbi Actually, Stalin's preference was for a mutual defense pact w/ France & the UK. When Stalin saw that they weren't negotiating in good faith (neither side trusted the other, for understandable reasons), he cynically switched to partnering with Germany.
@mattyglesias The Knicks' previous 8 (EIGHT) 1st Rd picks before the Bridges trade had a cumulative VORP of -2.5. Bridges had a career VORP of +11.4 at that time. The trade is fine, it worked.
