Building EVE

Building in public from Nigeria 🇳🇬

For those wondering what EVE actually is...

EVE is an AI-powered platform we're building to change how people connect, interact with technology, and experience the world around them.

Imagine having your own personal AI that helps you learn, create, organize your life, and get things done.

But EVE goes beyond just answering questions.

We're building a system that can turn what you want into real-world outcomes. You tell EVE what you need, it understands your intent, connects you to the right people, services, or resources, and helps you get it done.

We're also rethinking how people discover and interact with the world around them, from connecting with people to finding businesses, places, and opportunities.

The bigger vision is to bring people, intelligence, and real-world services into one connected experience.

We're starting with a small part of that vision, and we'll keep building.

A whole new world. 💜

It's launch week for EVE.
We're launching on the web first, then bringing it to mobile as an app.
We've been building this for months, and there's still a lot we want to improve. But I think it's time to let people actually use what we've built.
A little nervous about putting it out there, can't lie. 😂

Can't wait for you guys to try EVE. 💜

Been working on EVE for a while now.

An AI assistant built with Nigerians in mind. And yes, she speaks Pidgin too. 😂💜

Still a lot of work to do, but we’re getting somewhere.

I applied to Y Combinator last batch with just an idea. Didn’t get in.
Now I have actually built the product, and I’m thinking of giving it another shot.
Also been looking into a16z Speedrun. Not sure which one to go for.
Anyone here have experience with either?

Is replying to other people’s posts still the fastest way to grow on X?

Or has the algorithm changed?

Small Sunday nudge for founders

Message the person who gave you your first yes.
The first customer, the first angel, the friend who sent the deck to someone.

Don't ask for anything.
Just say thank you

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

@ManUtd 😔this is just not fair

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

Hey @grok, if Nigeria were to build its own Silicon Valley, which city would you pick?
And please don’t just say Lagos because that’s where all the VCs live. 😭

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

Man, I really want to be part of this tech race.
The US and China are out there building crazy things, investing billions, competing to shape the future.
And somehow I’m here in Nigeria thinking I can compete with these people too. 😭
I don’t know how we’re going to pull it off yet, but I genuinely want in.

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

I actually support larping.
Call yourself a founder. Act like you’re building the next billion-dollar company. Dream way beyond your current reality.
Just make sure you’re actually building something.
Sometimes you have to be a little delusional before the world takes you seriously.

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

This is exactly how we keep avoiding the real problem. Religion didn’t steal public funds, destroy our institutions or make our leaders unaccountable people did.
There are religious countries doing far better than Nigeria. Our problem isn’t that Nigerians believe in God. It is that we have built a country where those in power can fail repeatedly without consequences.
Blaming God is easier than holding people accountable😑

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

@Maximiliankao I will tell u for free.
NOTHING
they will just ruin this perfect Sunday

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

There is a moat. It’s just getting harder to defend.
Building software is becoming cheaper, but getting people to use it, trust it, and stay is still incredibly difficult.
AI might kill the technical moat, but it won’t magically give you distribution, network effects, or customer loyalty.
If anything, those advantages are becoming more valuable.

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

@mayuri_3015 NVIDIA
easily.
They spent years building something most people didn’t pay much attention to, and now they’re at the center of the AI revolution. Gotta respect that.

Small Sunday reminder for founders: keep sending investor updates in the bad months too

Writing one when everything is going up is easy. The one that says "rough month, here's what we're trying next" is the one people remember when you come back to them

Two lines is enough sha

Growing up, I wanted to be Ben Carson so badly. 🤧
I genuinely thought I would become a neurosurgeon.
Now I am spending my days writing code, fixing bugs, and trying to build a startup.

Funny how life changes your plans.

What did you want to become as a kid, and what are you doing now? 😅

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

I don’t think Africans fully understand what’s happening in the world right now.

During the dotcom revolution, America built companies like Amazon, Google and eBay. Those companies helped shape the modern internet economy and went on to create enormous wealth.
By 2021, America’s digital economy was already contributing $2.41 trillion to its GDP.

Now we’re witnessing something potentially much bigger
Artificial intelligence.

The United States and China aren’t treating AI like another startup trend. They’re treating it as a strategic national priority.

Governments are developing policies. Companies are investing billions. Researchers are competing for breakthroughs. Countries are building data centres, securing chips and developing their own AI models.

Why?

Because whoever leads in AI could influence how the world works for decades.

Think about it.

The technology behind tomorrow’s healthcare, education, manufacturing, defence, transportation and scientific discoveries is being developed today.

And the countries that control the infrastructure, research and intellectual property could capture enormous economic advantages.

Meanwhile, much of Africa is still struggling with electricity, internet access, research funding and access to computing infrastructure.

We already missed opportunities to build globally dominant companies during the internet revolution.

Are we going to repeat that mistake with AI?

Are we going to spend the next 30 years paying foreign companies to access intelligence we could have helped develop?

I’m not saying Africa has no brilliant engineers, researchers or entrepreneurs. We have them.

But talent alone cannot compete against countries investing billions in research, infrastructure and technology.

We need serious investment in computing infrastructure, universities, research laboratories, startups and technical education.

We need investors willing to fund ambitious technology companies, not just businesses that can generate revenue immediately.

And we need to stop treating technology as something we simply import and consume.

The world is entering another technological revolution, and the decisions being made today could shape economic power for generations.
What is our excuse this time?
We cannot keep watching other countries build the future and then complain about our place in it.

[Henry Ezechukwu @xqueue]

I think it’s time for our generation to take technology more seriously.
We shouldn’t just be the generation consuming everything Silicon Valley and China build.
We should be building our own platforms, creating new industries, and competing globally.
Nigeria has too many brilliant young people for us to remain just consumers of technology.
It’s time we started building the future ourselves.

Zuckerberg started Facebook at 19.

Steve Jobs cofounded Apple at 21.

Alexander the Great became king at 20.

Gowon became Nigeria’s Head of State at 31.

Ojukwu declared Biafra at 33.

People have been changing the course of history at remarkably young ages,
Makes me wonder why we convince ourselves we’re too young to attempt something extraordinary.
