@kksheld@CDCgov On of the unhealthiest, sedentary nations on Earth, with sky rocketing obesity being the biggest contributor to medical problems: “It’s the vaccines!”
And while doctors infight, insurers, hospitals corps, admins, and other interests take advantage of us, bilk away the healthcare dollar, which is the real reasons many residencies are misery.
Dear non-surgeons, I get it you had a terrible experience or simply didnt enjoy your time on surgery but how about you stop telling our applicants what a surgery residency is like if you haven’t done one? We’re not over here trying to tell people what your life is like.
@drmoneymatters Since I have feet in both worlds, I can say the FAA hour limits to commercial service are very dumb. It’s not training. It’s total hour accumulation. Half is still a lot and requires a lot of experience.
My 55 yo friend who is having postmenopausal bleeding just called me from CVS in TX bc they refused to fill her Rx for misoprostol (used to open the cervix) bc she couldn’t prove she wasn’t having an abortion. She is having surgery in 2 days. This is what total abortion bans do.
@omeezygaming520 It’s been the same for 20 years. I’ll always show up and buy my season tickets. I’m honestly happy with 5 to 7 wins. Just as long as we can compete. Last year being at Coors Field against a terrible CU team & getting shutout was a low point.
@Farran_Rockey@WSJ@karolcummins@WSJopinion@gerardtbaker It’s just the editorial. The rest of the paper is actually pretty well balanced. Never understood the editorial all over twitter though. Bad look and I think turns people off of WSJ. Idiots.
@DanMunro@nurse_jaqwellen@AmerMedicalAssn The disparity is my point. What is your point? That doctors shouldn’t lobby at all? My professional society lobby is all patient-centric advocacy. How does absence of a physician lobby work in your ideal world? This is our only means of defense in a system stacked against us.
@DanMunro@nurse_jaqwellen@AmerMedicalAssn Cool now do 2021 at $700M. Which doesn’t include adjacent industry lobby that eats at healthcare. Tell me how the AMA at $11M is even close. Now back to actually being in this field and caring for patients.
@DanMunro@nurse_jaqwellen@AmerMedicalAssn Your point being what? Physician lobby pales in comparison to insurance, hospital corporation, and pharm lobby. Not even the same ballpark. Billions vs Millions.
@DanMunro@nurse_jaqwellen Yes but nearly all insurer rates reflect Medicare. My practice is 60/40 medicare/commercial and our highest payer is 140% Medicare. The system is going to break soon because insurers are eating patient premiums. Premium increases are NOT going to patient care.
@DanMunro@nurse_jaqwellen A very clueless position you have. Healthcare premiums are not going to physicians. From my field: reimbursements down 44.4% since 2011. $5.4B in profits for United last quarter. You are plain wrong. https://t.co/u1GzpAe7mg
@ShKaushik94 Keep reading. Pick up moonlighting in your 3rd and 4th years. Every service is important. Give it your all and stay curious. Be the resident willing to fill in on any service. In practice you might randomly be the mammo guy or neuro guy, etc. rads is hard.
@becker_rad Disagree. You don’t know who is reading the report anymore; I include specifically for APPs (Traige nurse, NP, PA) who may not have any idea what they’ve ordered and what it can tell them.
