The standard answer of "there's no point in preparing because it will never happen", no longer holds water.
Our country is fast falling apart at the seams with no fix in sight. As it stands - we have the never ending threat of massive civil unrest, a failing power grid and the possibility of a fiscal collapse.
You can no longer afford to ignore the rise in race based hate, the encouragement of violence in order to engage in looting and the sheer volume of people that live in your immediate vicinity.
As the July Riots of 2021 proved, when large scale civil unrest starts - there is no "golden window" that allows you to rush out and buy the necessities.
To be clear. THERE IS NO WARNING. More so in South Africa than anywhere else in the world right now.
We are averaging 3 to 4 violent incidents' of civilian based unrest every 24 hours, think about that for a second.
We have nothing that can stop any large scale unrest. Anything that is bigger than the July Riots of 2021 will overwhelm all first responders and that's a fact.
For perspective - the July Riots of 2021 were insane and it looked apocalyptic to everyone.. but everything considered, it was very localised and therefore not "widespread".
^Alexandra Township has countless individuals living within it.. yet only around 15 000 actually partook on the looting of July 2021. We know this because what was recorded was run through software by the various security circles. Both on the ground and in the air.
Now imagine if those masses doubled? Or tripled?
The momentum would be unstoppable and would carry on for weeks.
South Africa is on the edge almost permantly. Anything that happens from car crashes, aircraft falling out of the sky (literally/ and even houses that aren't occupied quick enough - it all gets looted. Immediately. Without fail.
Looting and violent civilian based unrest is so ingrained in this country that it's almost accepted as "hey, that's just crime." It isn't.
The biggest companies in South Africa are preparing for this eventually.. they're stockpiling diesel and armoured vehicles. And they're developing their own intelligence networks that will be used to pass on information and aid where possible.
They're spending millions of Rand's every month to in order to prepare for the worst possible outcome - large scale violent civil unrest.
It just takes a spark.
@CAPITALSIGMAza Try the Xiaomi Mii Tv Stick. Some android boxes are not friends with all the apps for unknwon reasons. Also, all streaming services other than Netflix will always try to stream in the best quality irrespective of your available bandwidth. Also, try lowering the streaming quality.
