I officially became an orphan 12 September but the reality just hit me today knowing this is the last time I'll be seeing my mother dead or alive, the past few weeks have been hell but being able to see your body albeit frozen still gave me joy, now you're going 6feet.
This is 63!
For all the mercies of God these years, Father, take ALL the glory, honour and adoration. I raise my song of gratitude by acknowledging your sufficiency and faithfulness for my generation, past, present and my future, assured in the certainty and depth of your love:
Ìjìnlẹ̀ nínú Ìjìnlẹ̀ ẹ seun ó
Ìjìnlẹ̀ nínú Ìjìnlẹ̀ ẹ seun ó
Àná mi sọ̀rọ̀, E seun o
Òní mi nsọ̀rọ̀, E seun o
Ọ̀là mi a sọ̀rọ̀, E seun o
Ìjìnlẹ̀ nínú Ìjìnlẹ̀ ẹ seun ó
Now, please bear with me as I have a lot to say and after all, it is my birthday😂
Since waking up, I have been blessed by you all. My DMs, WhatsApp and Facetime Message all pinging with notifications of your blessings. I am grateful and truly blessed. I have shed a few emotional tears because you all get Me. You SEE me, despite my “in your face, oftentimes aggressive, “force it down your throat” approach to issues, you still GET ME. I Love you all, @Pirtim (first born son), daughter @lollylarry1 and last born son @SoprialaMembere and all my Twitter family. I will try to respond to as many as I can, but if I do not, do not take it that you do not matter to me. You all do, I am overwhelmed by your love, and I love you with a patriotic love and zeal. Nigeria is indeed blessed with you all.
Now talking about Nigeria and moving on to passing down legacy, today is the best day to share ‘our’ plans going forward, because, I am not alone in this, but have a multitude of patriots even more committed in “Project Nigeria must be Great" than I.
A bit more reiteration of my motivation:
I am passionate that Nigerians, especially the young ones should have knowledge on all things Nigeria; her history, governance, constitution, laws, culture, politics and all. I feel that it is when people have knowledge that they can make informed decisions. I know that knowledge would enrich our debates and make people interrogate issues more deeply. I also feel that knowledge will bring forth patriotic zeal. I strongly advocate that EVERYONE should be interested in Governance from LGA to Federal and all in-betweens. My deep convictions made me to become a co-founder of AllAboutNigeria which started several years ago as a Podcast. The true founders are my children, Omodesola and Tolulope who asked me to start the podcast to educate their generation about Nigeria. We recorded over 40 episodes, and they are all online serving as Knowledge base for Nigerians, especially the youth, and the GenZs, who through not much fault on their part do not know much history of Nigeria.
Now in the past months since January this year, others, as deeply invested in what we term, “Project Empower Nigerians through knowledge” as me, have joined in the vision of @AllAboutNigeria and have moved the project further. We now have video podcasts (which are actually TV discussions and interviews) that have been recorded and the first Season comprising 12 or so Episodes have been recorded and are now being edited. The interviewees are varied and many, including even retired Police COP, established lawyers, acclaimed but level-headed HR personalities, bankers, agric persons etc. The video podcasts will be available soon on the Youtube link first, which will be shared on the @AllAboutNigeria handle, before they go on TV. The interviews have been brilliant and the person who anchors the VideoPodcast is a veteran of the Media. Our own @REsangbedo. She has made this project her baby and she is a very serious and a professional, so if you get invited to the show, know your onions please.
The most important addition to our project of empowering Nigerians with Knowledge is new and I am introducing it here. It is a membership drive that we have set up via the website. This is the link:https://t.co/vBM8wBpbyO. You can also access the Google form directly via this link: https://t.co/n0TbYaABNm. We want as many people, that want unadulterated facts about Nigeria to join a cohort that we are building –“a cohort of Knowledgeable Nigerians” Go online and register if you wish. NO COMPULSION PLEASE.
Please note the following about our Knowledge Impacting project:
1. There are NO obligations on you. You pay NOTHING and you have no compulsion to attend any meetings or do anything.
2. You are a member simply to have knowledge impacted to you by people who are experts in fields that you are interested in.
3. Membership means that you will be informed when a Webinar/Seminar/Spaces is to be held on any topic.
4. You will all be encouraged to understand Governance issues and you can submit any query and have them answered and you can be asked to do some research on an issue and make a presentation. It is after all a project to teach knowledge and you only teach what you know.
5. If you have a specific area of leadership issue you want discussed, you can request.
6. This is not POLITICAL and AllAboutNigeria will NOT metamorphose into a Political group, BUT, it will definitely be a group that teaches the law and governance issues so that people can make up their minds on issues.
7. Our intention is to raise patriots who will ALWAYS consider Nigeria’s interest firsts and who would be interested in Governance in their LGAs, States and FGN in that order.
8. You are free to belong to ANY Political party you wish. This will not be an issue on AllAboutNigeria. We simply want you to be knowledgeable so you can better serve the nation if you do contest for any position in Government.
Some other highlights:
We still have the old podcasts which remain a veritable source of information on Nigeria’s history. See them here: https://t.co/xmD8smETUW
We have the YouTube/TV Podcast which will come on-stream by the end of this month or early July.
You can follow all the news about AllAboutNigeria by following @AllAboutNigeria
Let me reiterate that I do not take credit for this legacy that is #AllAboutNigeria. I am also not a focal point. We are a team of persons that love Nigeria and love knowledge. We do not like information relayed from the point of view of someone with an intent to sway. We want information relayed, so that people can make informed decisions having looked at the facts. The anchor @REsangbedo likes a separation of facts versus opinion and she knows when facts are being nuanced. Democracy can only thrive when people have knowledge, and we provide such a platform. Anyone is then free to have their opinion based on facts.
Conclusion:
Now having started with a Yoruba praise song, let me end with the following English Hymn that is my prayer to God always:
More holiness give me,
More strivings within,
More patience in suffering,
More sorrow for sin,
More faith in my Saviour,
More sense of his care,
More joy in his service,
More purpose in prayer. AMEN
@EmmyPromise71@PeterObi This is one of the reasons I stopped commenting about Peter Obi, it's so annoying to see some people online that we were all resident in Anambra back then come online to whitewash @PeterObi nothing infuriates me more. Thank YOU mazi.
It is truly embarrassing for the ruling party that Serah Ibrahim, an Obidient, used the Federal Police to arrest and detain a member of the APC, despite her having repeatedly threatened the Nigerian judiciary on this platform so many times
My father died before he “Became”, he had dreams of becoming a lawyer and he went to law school at night while he worked for the government by day. Today the Makinwa name is a household one. As I launch this project, I remember my father, I hope he is proud of me. Ladies and gents, Dive by @tmbeautyonline
