“She was like, ‘Okay I want that.’ And I’m thinking in my mind, ‘No, you’re like, a hot chick. I’m not giving you this song. No way. Are you kidding me?’ My manager at the time said, ‘Why don’t you let her sing it and see what it sounds like?’ So I let her sing it and it made sense. That’s when I discovered beautiful people are actually insecure and are just as damaged as I am.”
