Common T1D warning signs/symptoms include:
o Unquenchable thirst
o Frequent urination
o Sudden bedwetting
o Unexplained weight loss w/ increased appetite
o Fatigue
o Fruity smelling breath
o Blurry vision
o Stomach pain
o Nausea/vomiting
o Dizziness
o Rapid/heavy breathing
Thus, recognizing the early signs/symptoms of Type 1 diabetes is critical and could be life-saving (while delayed diagnosis can have serious life-threatening consequences).
T1D symptoms may have rapid onset and/or can be mistaken for other illnesses such as the flu.
