There are genuine social problems associated with social media. But the answer is not giving a government like this the machinery to decide what is misinformation, what is dangerous and what Australians should be allowed to see, say and share.

Australia should be moving away from government censorship, not building the Orwellian machinery for it.

China does it. Iran does it. Russia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Myanmar do it.

Gangsters linked to the West Sydney Alameddine crime family just executed a random sleeping medical student in his own bedroom at night in a terrifying case of mistaken identity.

They broke into the guy’s family house and shot him to death in his own bed while he was sleeping. It was an attempted gangland assassination but they got the wrong guy and ended up just murdering a completely random innocent person.

Literally could have happened to anybody. You could just be sleeping in your room at night in Sydney and suddenly be executed in a case of mistaken identity.
