Something really evil is unravelling in Nairobi & we will pay the price dearly.

Motorists are now raising the alarm over attacks along Thika Road, especially around Juja Highpoint, Githurai and Kimbo.

Thugs are reportedly placing stones in the middle of the highway at night, forcing drivers to slow down or stop before attacking them. In some cases, stones are being hurled directly at moving vehicles.

And this is where we must connect the dots.

When a country normalises the use of hired goons to intimidate political opponents, disrupt meetings and terrorise citizens during the day, it should not be surprised when the same culture of lawlessness comes for ordinary people at night.

You cannot empower violence for political convenience and somehow expect it to remain within political boundaries.

Today the victim is an opposition supporter at a rally. Tonight it is a father, mother or young Kenyan driving home along Thika Road.

We have helped create this problem by excusing political violence whenever it is directed at people we do not support. Some even cheer the very government accused of tolerating or enabling this culture, until the consequences arrive at their own doorstep.

A thug does not suddenly become a law abiding citizen when the political assignment is over. Once violence becomes a source of income and impunity becomes normal, everyone becomes a potential victim.

We must stop defending lawlessness because of politics. Eventually, the monster you feed stops asking who you voted for.

Finance Act 2026 has made eTIMS even more central to businesses.

The law now prohibits KRA from allowing deduction of expenses that are not supported by eTIMS invoices. There are a few exceptions, but that is the general rule.

That means you could end up paying higher taxes simply because a legitimate business expense, such as a whole year's rent, is rejected by KRA because the landlord did not give you eTIMS invoices in 2026.

So here's a simple eTIMS bookkeeping hack to protect yourself.

• Make this 1 rule non negotiable: No eTIMS invoice. No payment. Period.

Every time you pay a business expense, save three things together:

• eTIMS invoice
• Proof of payment
• Supplier details

At the end of every month, reconcile your bank/M-Pesa payments against your eTIMS invoices.

If you paid someone but can't find the eTIMS invoice, chase them immediately.

Don't wait until the 2027 tax filing season to discover that half your expenses can be deducted.

The baby is only part of the birth. There's another birth that almost nobody talks about. The PLACENTA. For 9 months, your body grows an entirely new organ, an organ with one job keeping your baby alive. It delivers oxygen, nutrients, hormones, filters waste and connects two completely different circulatory systems without ever mixing your blood. Then, minutes after your baby is born that organ detaches from the wall of your uterus, and when it does, it leaves behind a wound roughly the size of a dinner plate. About 10 cm across, that is why you bleed after birth, because your body is healing a wound. At the same time, your uterus, which stretched enough to hold an entire baby, is working around the clock to shrink back down to its pre pregnancy size. Those after pains you're feeling those contractions, they are your uterus, squeezing itself smaller while compressing hundreds of open blood vessels to stop the bleeding. Now imagine this. If you had a wound that size anywhere else, on your body, on your arm, on your leg, your back, would anyone expect you to be back at work in a week? Would anyone expect you you to entertain visitors? Cook meals, carry a baby day and night smile for photos and get your body back, of course not. You'd probably be in the hospital on a drip. People would tell you to rest up. It's simply checking whether the bleeding has stopped, whether the placental wound has healed and whether your uterus is recovering as expected. It is not a certificate that says your body, brain, hormones, identity or even nervous system have all returned to normal. So if you've ever been wondering, why haven't I bounced back yet? Here's the better question why were you ever expected to bounce back from something this enormous in the first place? Your body is recovering from one of the most extraordinary healing processes a human being can experience. Give yourself some time and space to recover.

Singapore declared war on corruption. Kenya under your administration has declared corruption an economic activity.

Singapore asks: How do we make the country richer?

Kenya asks: How much is the tender? Who is getting the commission? Where is the percentage?

Singapore builds a road for the money allocated.

Kenya builds a road, a committee to investigate the road, another committee to investigate the first committee, then someone announces that the money disappeared because of “economic headwinds.”

In Singapore, stealing public money can end your career.

Here, stealing public money can allegedly earn you a promotion, a tender, a state appointment and sometimes a presidential handshake.

Then we sit in State House and wonder why Singapore is ahead.

Boss, Singapore did not discover another planet. They simply stopped treating corruption like a national investment opportunity.

Vietnam industrialised.

Singapore transformed itself.

Kenya perfected the art of explaining why transformation is coming.

The tragedy is not that Kenya lacks intelligent people.

The tragedy is that the system is often designed to make the honest person look stupid and the corrupt person look successful.

Mr President, before asking why Singapore is ahead, ask one simple question:

Who is getting rich while Kenya remains poor?

That is where your development answer is hiding.
