@TheGalox_ Impossible. The camera needs more flange distance between the lens and the sensor in order to accommodate the larger sensor you are after. Until we have a major breakthrough in material science w.r.t refractive index, it won't happen. Liquid lens prototypes have failed.

二月回倫敦時，早上在咖啡館寫了這封郵件給Apple Tim Cook。在倫敦，手機被偷被搶早已成為日常，邊走邊使用手機都要特別注意周圍。於是⋯
想到一個idea，就噼哩啪啦的寫給Tim。我知道他會看到是因為大學時期就曾經寫給他抱怨台灣當時經銷商的維修服務（當時台灣沒有直營店）。結果沒幾天，亞洲蘋果辦公室就聯繫我。最後，因為這樣還幫我換了一台剛新出的Macbook Pro

People of special skill, ie top athletes, TV stars, even influencers creating entertainment, have to obtain an O-1B visa, which are for single entry events. O-1B visas have a 92.7% acceptance rate. But you need a new one every time, for every trip. Filming/support staff can get O-2 visas.

I travel on a media 'I' visa, which is multiple entry for five years (that's a capital I, just in case this font doesn't have serifs). I work for my media org and report on events/interview execs. I travel to the USA 20-25+ times a year and have done since 2010 (except pandemic), so I've been through a fair few border agents.

My story back in 2010 when I started is that initially I was told by peers I didn't need a visa. If I was in town 'for meetings', a visa waiver was all that was needed. Many of my peers sailed through every time, saying 'I'm here to meet friends'. But I mentioned on my third ever trip through Dallas that I was a journalist covering an event. I really hate lying to people, even if my peers had no issue with it. They took me to the back room, I had an interview over an hour (no strip search), and they let me in, given I was flying out two days later and had a return ticket I could show them. They said that I, under no uncertain circumstances, had to get a media visa to come into the country next time.

A story I'd heard around that time (not sure if all facts I remember are true), but during one E3 in the late 200x/early 2010s, there was a major issue with British press. A large number came through on singlular flight, and at the border they asked anyone their for E3 to go off into a single line. Out of the 25-30 press who went into that line, half were sent home for not having a media visa, and trying to get in on an ESTA. One of my friends had a media visa, so was let through.

In order for me to get a media visa, it took 20-30 minutes of filing in an online form, 2 hours waiting in line at the embassy at 7am a couple of weeks later, 5-10 minutes for an interview, then a week for it to arrive in the mail. I had to bring a letter from my employer, proof of my work, and a few passport photos. I'm now currently on my fourth five-year visa, and the process is the same each time for renewal. I also now have Global Entry as of last year to make entering the country easier (I should have got that earlier), where sometimes I don't even need to show my passport.

The only other time I've been cautioned is again, flying into Dallas. I mentioned I was filming interviews, and they asked me if the equipment I was bringing in was over $6000, or any singular item was over $2000. I hadn't thought about it before (camera could easily, laptop could easily, combined maybe), and I was told that next time if it was the case, I had to fill in a bunch of specific forms and declare it all. It may also mean I'd be outside the scope of my media visa, depending on the agent.

I don't know what sort of visa Arun was on. He reviews products, so he could get a media visa if he doesn't already. He was there to cover the tech side of a stadium, which would be covered by that visa if it's educational. If it was a sponsored engagement, that can muddy the waters. If the funding was from a UK company/source, then the media visa applies. If the video ends up on his channel, and he still retains some editorial control, then generally the media visa applies. If it's a work-for-hire for their own use, then an O-1B is likely needed. But even if you explain it and the border agent doesn't understand/doesn't believe you/doesn't know the difference, there is no route to appeal. Their word is law, and falls outside the scope of the constitution (ie searches and seizures).

There was an instance on Top Gear where Clarkson/May/Hammond had an issue with visas. Working for the BBC and creating a documentary, you'd assume a media I visa was fine. But the US classified the content as entertainment, not a documentary, because of how the trio bantered. Entertainment falls under the O-1B rules, and as they didn't have O-1B, they were 'restricted' in what they could film. It's worth noting that you have no option to appeal the decision of the border agent - if they classifies the content as entertainment rather than educational, again, their word is law.
