“The climate crisis is very much on the ballot in this election.” Irrespective of the way you usually vote, if you care about the climate, the most powerful way to oppose more North Sea drilling is to vote for @ZackPolanski at the coming by-election 👇 https://t.co/HvWdHF4GL4
Wow, deep respect for these Cambridge students at their graduation…
The future generation give me hope. They are strong, courageous and will fight for freedom!
Fun fact: For almost 200 years, Yemen was the world's only commercial source of coffee, which it exported through the port of Mokha (المخا). "Mocha" referred to prized Yemeni coffee and its distinctive, chocolatey notes. Today it means chocolate + coffee. ☕🇾🇪
My speech in today’s debate about assisted dying. I am very sorry that the Bill - which I supported because it would help relieve human suffering - did not pass.
Israel has inflicted massive destruction on the people of Gaza.
1 in 3 pregnancies are miscarried in Gaza.
Feminists must oppose this reproductive violence.

They can buy X, they can buy Facebook and Instagram, they can buy TikTok and Google, they can buy journalists and television stations, and they can buy politicians. But they can't buy the people.
Millions of dollars spent on Israeli Hasbara propaganda tried to erase Palestine, but the world has become Palestine.
Keep protesting. Keep writing. Keep posting. You may think you're yelling into the void. But we hear you in Palestine and Lebanon.
Keep in mind, Yemen is the poorest country in the world, dead last on the list of per capita GDP. People in Haiti are TEN TIMES richer, on average, than Yemenis. Yet in direct military confrontations, the Houthis have been defying the USA, Saudi Arabia, and Israel for 20+ years.

Jeremy Corbyn told me how MI5 and MI6 worked to undermine him when he was Labour leader
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also came to London in 2019 and was recorded saying Washington was doing its “level best” to stop Corbyn becoming PM
Think you live in a “democracy”?
No shade, on toxic ground.
Gaza is now hell on earth where people barely survive untill they "voluntarily migrate".
The intentional destruction of a group through physical/psychological suffering and conditions of life calculated to destroy is genocide.

Yemeni government sources tell CNN the strategically crucial Perim Island has just been captured by Iran-backed Houthis. In an exclusive report, @NicRobertsonCNN visited the island just before it fell, and shows how crucial it is to the global oil supply.
The scenes from Sana’a, Yemen, are breathtaking.
For years, the Yemeni people have been bombed and starved with the full support of the NATO axis. According to the UN, some 377,000 Yemenis died in the war by the end of 2021, 70% of them children under the age of five. Tens of millions were cast into destitution.
And yet the Yemeni people never wavered in their support for the Palestinian cause — or in their pursuit of self-determination. Today, they are victorious, and their victory means that anti-imperialist forces control two critical choke-points in the global economy. These are the foundations of a more equitable global economic order.
Once again, empire is being brought to its knees by the dignified resistance of the oppressed.
Gaza has not been "a mess for centuries". Historically it has been often been one of the richest ports in the East Mediterranean, a fertile centre of wine growing & rich from the export of frankincense and the perfumes of Arabia.

One final, horrifying subtext to Miliband’s speech announcing a trade ban on the settlements should not go unremarked.
In desperately trying to keep alive the West’s two-state solution, Burnham’s government is not just ignoring reality: the fact that there is no partner in Israel – electable or otherwise – to implement such a vision.
Burnham and Miliband are also insisting, in the entirely improbable event that a Palestinian state can be extracted from Israel, that the Palestinian people should be required to make peace with an unrepentant, heavily militarised, racist state that has recently committed genocide in Gaza.
None of the 11 states that joined the UK this week in sanctioning the settlements can apparently imagine Palestinians ever living in anything more than a small, demilitarised, economically dependent pseudo-state, with no real choice over its leaders, or control over its borders and economy.
Similarly, there is no suggestion that a neighbouring, territorially reduced Israeli state would need to be reformed ideologically, or made to engage in any kind of truth and reconciliation process, or face sanctions until it sees the error of its genocidal ways.
The Jewish supremacist ideology of Zionism, the dehumanising logic of the Israeli settler-colonial mindset, and the religious fundamentalism of large swaths of the Israeli population - all critical to the rationalisation of the Gaza genocide - would remain unchallenged.
On this view, it seems, long-established impulses towards apartheid and genocide would simply evaporate, even as the West continues to indulge Israel’s every whim.
This isn’t a recipe for peace, even of the flawed kind. It is a demand that the Palestinian lamb continue to dwell with the Israeli wolf.
The truth that Burnham’s government refuses to face, as with every government before it, is that peace won’t magically arrive with Palestinian statehood. A Palestinian state – or, more likely, a single state embracing Palestinians and Israeli Jews – can emerge only when Israel has been dismantled as a heavily armed settler-colonial state, as happened with apartheid South Africa.
Israeli society will need to be re-educated through a painful truth and reconciliation process, as also happened in apartheid South Africa. Israelis will have to be made to confront the facts about a century of atrocities committed against the native Palestinian people.
Britain is not contemplating doing any of this – because the threads from unravelling the crimes of Israel and the Zionist movement would lead straight to the door of 10 Downing Street and other western powers.
This is an extract from my latest article Britain's settlement trade ban is cosmetic. For it to work, it must sanction Israel. Find a link to the rest in the reply post ⬇️
