If they know they won't get away with it, then what would be the purpose, assuming they are smart enough to realize this? Perhaps, it is the government (or replace with your favorite deep state, underground secret power) so that they can get the price of Bitcoin to drop significantly before fully investing in it for the future of banking and monetary purposes.
