Please remember that doing this line of work at the pace they do it for years at a time is incredibly taxing, and breaks aren't ever really "breaks" and can sometimes just outright not solve burnout. Even when you're away, you're on the clock mentally having to think about deadlines, coming back, and everything that comes along with those parts of the job.

It is possible, and very likely, that they're just burnt out or tired of doing it in this capacity in this way, and that's okay. We're likely not going to get answers that are satisfactory and we need to be okay with that as well.

No company is perfect, but doom posting, speculating, and conspiracy theories are really just not all that helpful and are miserable to read. It's far more likely they're just not able to work at the company anymore even if they love it, and the timing just feels awful as they happen so close to one another.

We may see more graduations in the near future as others decide they want a different life path, we may not. It's not like this industry is decades old, everyone is still figuring it out. We should be proud of the work they've done to pioneer it, not admonish them for not staying for however long we want them to.

Just take care of yourselves, take care of others. 💙
