Hey @netflix, instead of releasing a documentary about Michael Jackson, a man investigated for 10 years and declared innocent by the law, so why don't release a documentary detailing all the accusations and reports of pedophilia cases against the President of the United States?
I don’t understand why, whenever streaming platforms release a documentary about Michael Jackson, the focus always ends up being basically the same: the allegations and the 2005 trial.
We’re talking about a case that happened in 2005, in which Michael was fully acquitted by a jury. Even so, in 2026 almost two decades later the subject is still treated in many productions as if it were unresolved, repeatedly using the same approach.
And that’s frustrating, especially as a fan. Instead of taking advantage of the hype around the film, there are so many other aspects of his life that could be explored: his revolutionary career, his influence on music, dance, and music videos, his artistic genius, and his global cultural impact… but almost all of that ends up taking a back seat.
What stands out is that this persistent focus doesn’t seem to happen with the same frequency in other high-profile cases. We can see this with the Diddy and Epstein cases. In many of them, documentary coverage doesn’t remain repeatedly stuck in a single period or narrative for so many years.
It feels like, when it comes to Michael Jackson, the story never manages to move beyond the same point. How long is this going to go on? We’ve had enough!!
