Hey @Tesla, I just received the new 2026.14.6.6 update. My Apple Podcasts library hasn’t worked since. Podcasts in the “latest” row in Home Screen works. My Apple Music library works, just not the Pod library. I’ve logged out, I’ve soft rebooted, I’ve duel logged out of Apple Music and Apple Podcasts. Nothing. Is this something you’re working on? Logging out of every device I have to fix my car isn’t an option. Thanks!
@neontaster Totally agree. I *love* Ray’s audio book version, but it’s a different beast entirely. Lord, Miller, Goddard and all of the rest of the team…they did the source material justice.
I read one of his ideas on an AMA (I think). It was a view of the Earth while Grace was seeking the answer to Astrophage. There seemed to be a story idea of several African nations owning the infrastructure that bred Astrophage for Hail Mary (paving the Sahara with black panel). If I recall correctly, I think Weir also had the idea of a Caliphate existing.
It made more sense if you read the book, but I bet it would be compelling.
My wife and I went to the early Prime showing on Monday. She knew how excited I was for this movie (read it twice, listened to the audio book once). She knew nothing of the material. I left Monday’s showing a bit shocked at how fast some of the plot points went, or were glossed over. She thought I was disappointed, but I told her that wasn’t it. I had hyped myself up for a totally different movie. She loved it. I realized they took the best parts of one of my favorite books and adapted it for a wider audience.
We went back last night, round two. I ditched my mental baggage and watched it for what it was, a movie that nailed the heart of the book in the best way possible. When I saw how invested my wife was to Grace and Rocky’s relationship, I got it. When I saw how the alien and sciencey parts didn’t drive her away, but she was interested in them….I got it. And when you could hear a pin drop in a crowded IMAX theater during *that* scene, I was thankful for what this team put together.
Totally agree with your points on Rocky’s portrayal! And Gosling put in a great performance. All in all, PHM was a great movie!
NFL Films did an amazing feature on #Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel. It's over 11 minutes long but worth the watch.
All the ups and downs.
Bookmark this if you don't have the time now. It's really good.

15 things to do with your father while he is still alive. I lost mine 8 years ago.
1. Ask him what he was like at your age because once he was the same age you are right now & Watch his face light up as he tells you stories from when he was younger
2. Record his laugh when he tells one of his signature jokes. Someday you will replay the video over and over just to hear it again
3. Ask him about the proudest moment of his life. (Odds are he will say when you were born)
4. Ask him his favourite songs
Listen to them together, laugh, sing and be happy. These will become your most cherished memories in years to come
5. Take a picture of him doing something he loves. Watching tv, gardening, playing the guitar, anything. When you look back these will be the pictures that will make you smile the most
6. Tell him you love him even if it's something you don't normally do.
7. Tell him you are proud to be his son/daughter This will mean more to him than you realise (even if he doesn't show it)
8. Listen to music from his youth and watch him turn from dad into a young man again
9. Take a short video of him talking about something random sacred Someday even the ordinary things he said become
10. Bring up something you are thankful for from years ago
11. Ask him what it was like for him growing up
12. Call him for no reason
Don't take being able to do this for granted.
Someday you would give anything to hear his voice again.
13. Take a picture of just the 2 of you together
14. Ask him to show you an old photo of him because seeing him young will remind you that he wasn't always Dad
15. Tell him something you are struggling with, no matter what age you are Because even when your grown it means the world to him to feel like he can still help
Let him give you advice, even if you don't need it because one day you will give anything to hear his voice guiding you again
Prince performed Foo Fighters' Best of You just because Dave Grohl covered one of his songs live.
What a cool move.
One of the best Super Bowl Half-Time performance ever.
So...my crazy theory is that Carol's role in #Pluribus over the next episodes and seasons will be to find a way for the collective *majority* to willingly walk away from the hive-mind at the same time. If she can convince them of the importance of their individuality and the majority willingly walk away at the same time, they won't be able to passive-aggressively enact the "punishment" of just dropping them. Not really sure why I think this, and I'm sure I'm 100% wrong...but it's been a fun thought exercise two episodes in of an *amazing* show!
Going to try again to post my (potentially) spoiler-y idea of what is happening on #Pluribus . My rambling last night was way too chaotic from the several days of travel and no sleep. Theory is below.
In ep 2, Carol equates it to heroin. Everyone joins willingly. The others not part of the hive all have a reason to want to be a part, so there is no reason to ever question your participation in the hive. However, when Carol shouts into the collective and there is another seize-up, people question if they want to stay. Again, participation is voluntary. If you want out during the "vote" (when the seize-up happens), you're free to do so. But you will be let go. You will likely be hurt. Likely die. That's your punishment for not going along with the collective.
@KyleKulinski Hahah, he he’s doing the Trump thing. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Or in discount Eminem’s case…the surest capitalistic way for him to get more $$ in the bank. Gotta respect the capitalist in Kyle!
It’s cute Kyle continues to double down on this hot take, proving he’s just a run of the mill asshole (and that his capitalistic urges can’t stop the clickbaiting so he can monetize the outrage…Rockefeller would be proud!). The best thing would be for all of us to let this cueball sulk into obscurity while his wife whines about other capitalists (and takes out her frustration with that aggressive pegging he so desperately craves). At least we know he’s who we thought he was…a simpleton chump.
@SandyofCthulhu While we see this and the achievement of making it to 97 and being able to see such a loving family grow…it does not take away from the fact that it’s your father and the news is tough. Praying for you and your family in a difficult time.
