Let's talk some hard facts on the @RussiaUkraine war.

One, the war is in the national interest of the US & most #EU nations. Why? Read on.
Two, US has spent $ 40bn on arming Ukraine. That's 5% of its def budget for ONE year. But that 5% helps US tie down, degrade, disrupt arch rival Russia for over 500 days and more. That's cheap!
Three, the counting of body bags is in #Kyiv & #Moscow. Not one in entire EU & US. That means supporting Ukraine by the West comes at the cost of the last Ukrainian! ( or Russian!)
Four, the weakening of Russia will ultimately help @EU nations to maintain 2% or even less of their annual @GDP contributions to #NATO. That's a win- win for them.
Five, the weakening of Russia also means weakening China. Indirectly. It will come at a cost of energy & food grain which Russia supplies to China.
Six, the presence of #IndoPacific nations like Australia, NZ, Japan & S Korea at Vilnius today,ultimately squeezes Russia-China between #NATO & #QUAD ++/AUKUS. That's looking at the Russia-China as a common threat to both multi-lateral mechanisms.
Seven, the def industrial complex in EU & US has been infused with a huge list of orders. Suddenly, old factories are being resuscitated, prod lines restarted, jobs created & old weapons being put to good use. It's all about the economy. At the cost of Ukraine.
Eight, the Rus- Ukr war is a live, real laboratory for new & emerging technologies in weapons & warfare. It cuts many layers in the traditional 1-9 TRL curve. More importantly, it's a huge attraction for bystanders who want these toys for FOMO.

Now tell me, why would anyone be in a hurry to let Ukraine join NATO? Worse still, why would they commit harakiri by shifting the wrath of @Putin on to themselves??
