@bhargreaves I actually had a friend 2 years ago fly EWR-ORF on UAL and they actually cruised at 8,000 ft. for that flight as well.

Not sure what triggers ATC around here to cruise and airliner at 8,000 ft. & below, even outside of gov. shutdown conditions but super interesting!
