Just to clarify: this is not simply about “not liking the costumes.” It is a chain reaction from the past few days.
First, the new song itself does not feel like Ave Mujica at all. It feels more like a self-indulgent experiment than something built from Mujica’s gothic, aesthetic and heavy identity. Then today’s costumes made the problem even clearer. The design feels careless, and both the song and the costumes are neither gothic nor heavy enough to support the world view this project was built on.
Even putting the design problem aside, this is a heavy music stage that requires a lot of physical energy and stage movement. Yet Riko Sasaki’s hair was styled into that upward parrot-like shape, and Yuzuki Watase was put in a fully wrapped leather outfit. To me, this is not “oppressive gothic design.” It is poor planning.
That is why I’m angry. I feel the production side is disrespecting the world view, disrespecting the performers through bad stage planning, and disrespecting fans through weak artistic direction. So as a fan, I don’t feel any need to respect those decisions unconditionally.
