One Piece is a pirate story inspired by the past, where marrying girls at a young age was normal and common

@axxcex @2josuke2 @juridicosanji Princess Shuri was 14 and, according to the manga, already considered marriageable and had suitors. Vivi’s coming-of-age ceremony was also set for age 14, and a Whole Cake Island panel states Pudding was old enough to marry 🤔
