🚨Daichi Kamada was asked which country he would support to win the World Cup if Japan do not go all the way following Japan’s emphatic 4–0 victory over Tunisia.
🎙️ Reporter: “Kamada, if Japan are eliminated from the World Cup, which team would you like to see lift the trophy?”
🗣️ Daichi Kamada: “Of course, our focus is on Japan. We believe in ourselves, and we want to make history for our country.
“But if Japan cannot win the World Cup, I think many Japanese fans would support Portugal.
“In Japan, Cristiano Ronaldo is hugely admired. A lot of people grew up watching him, and many young players were inspired by his mentality, his work ethic, and everything he has achieved in football.
“I think it’s fair to say there are many Japanese fans who would love to see him win another major trophy.
“Portugal are a fantastic team with great players, and if our journey ends, I believe a lot of people in Japan would be cheering for Cristiano and Portugal.
“But for now, our only focus is on making sure Japan stay in this tournament for as long as possible.
