Suddenly, you're 27.
You make your coffee, rush to work, come home around 7, and you're too tired to do anything except eat, scroll on your phone, and pass out.
Then you wake up, and do it all again.
And when Friday comes, maybe you go out, or maybe you're just too tired. Then, out of nowhere, it hits you.
How did everything pass by so quickly?
You don't even feel 27.
You still feel like that 17 year old kid who thought they had all the time in the world.
But somehow, 10 years just disappeared. And you start missing the past. The feeling of being young, excited, and clueless.
But then you realize, one day, you'll miss this, too.
Being 25, being confused, being tired, but still trying.
So maybe the trick is to slow down a bit and actually live this chapter before it also becomes just another memory.
The point is no matter age you are, you'll miss these days. Life gets busy sometimes and it's always a good time to stop and smell the roses.
night 1995. your parents get paid. go dancing. buy records on the way home. make plans for the weekend. own a home. sleep without financial anxiety.
night 2025. you get paid. rent leaves immediately. bills follow. you open your bank app and stare at what’s left. do the math on one drink. decide against it.
go to sleep. wake up monday. repeat.
nothing changed about the desire to live.
everything changed about what living costs.
There’s brave men, and then there’s Smokey Nagata from Top Secret.
Imagine the level of don’t give a fuck attitude it takes to ship your car to another continent just to break the British highway speed record without shutting the road down.
That’s exactly what happened when Mr. Nagata, aka the biggest cojones in Japan, shipped his MK4 Toyota Supra to the UK and pushed it to nearly 200 mph on public roads.
The consequences were expected. He was arrested, fined, and banned from the UK for ten years. But a point was proven and respect was earned. Call it a stunt, or call it one of the greatest marketing exercises of all time.
