Has always been. Not a new phenomenon really. As students in the 60s and 70s, we tried to arrest it, using progressive ideas that included socialist ideals & aspirations, we tried to fight and contain it, even went to the extent of creating a multinational organization to advance progressive ideas - many were sacrificed.
But we failed as it was entrenched in that retrogressive society which was and remains to be steeped in national chauvinism.
And now we live to bear witness when it expressed itself in #TigrayGenocide.
It is just the ignorance of the #Tegaru elite, their opportunism and their being more Ethiopians than the Ethiopian that has partially contributed and brought us to where we find ourselves.
The lessons appear not to have been learnt.
#Tegaru have as yet not determined the path forward post the genocide. Vacillation & indecisiveness persist to the detriment of the peoples of #Tigray
Hope #GenTadesseWerede et al and @realDebretsion and co., and the other #Tigrayan organized groups/parties are not expecting “manna” to be sent from the citadel of tyrant @AbiyAhmedAli and his genocidal cabal.
Anti Tigray and/or anti northern hate will keep on growing and leading to a qualitative change in the nature of the conflict.
Given the continuation of the genocidal war, a heavier price will remain to be paid until……
