General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff #CDS, witnessed a defining milestone in India's maritime legacy as the first of three Cadet Training Ships #CTS, named 'KRISHNA', was launched at M/s L&T Shipbuilding, Kattupalli, Chennai by Mrs Anupama Chauhan.
Indigenously designed and built by M/s L&T, CTS Krishna has its crest bearing a lotus in full bloom rising from the banks of River Krishna, symbolising the ascent of knowledge.
It will train Men and Women Officer Cadets at sea following their basic training ashore also fostering deeper maritime bonds with Cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries.
The launch stands as a resounding testament to @indiannavy's unwavering commitment to indigenous shipbuilding and reflects the Nation's indomitable resolve to realise the Government’s vision of #AatmanirbharBharat.

Another milestone for the #IndianNavy!
The first of the three Cadet Training Ships (CTS) was launched at M/s L&T Shipbuilding, Kattupalli, Chennai on #16Feb 26 by Mrs Anupama Chauhan in the presence of General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff #CDS.
Indigenously designed and built by M/s L&T, these CTS will be utilised for training of men and women Officer Cadets at sea after their basic training ashore, as well as Cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries.
Named 'Krishna", the crest of the ship depicts a lotus in full bloom (signifying knowledge) emerging from the banks of River Krishna.
The launch is yet another significant milestone in #IndianNavy’s pursuit towards indigenous shipbuilding and is in consonance with GoI vision of #AatmanirbharBharat and @makeinindia initiatives.
