@The_SharkSlayer @The_DragonLadyy An MQ 9 was shot down over iran some 700+ kms inside enemy territory, no line of sight there. what you are describing is the usual flow, but works either with LoS datalink or satcom. that exists, but automatic targeting also exists and is used in heavy EW environments.

@The_SharkSlayer @The_DragonLadyy Thats exactly what you use UCAVs for. Pretty much what the MQ9 predators do, fly to a waypoint using inertial navigation or tercom, Match the target using EO/DSMAC, Lock n shoot.

@The_DragonLadyy Ok so let me break it down for you in simple terms, UCAV > Waypoint > Locks target > Laser Guided > Boom. You dont need constant link for that, loading mission profile in a non-contested area is enough.

@The_DragonLadyy Untrue, Most UCAVs are preloaded with a mission profile, its not an RC car that you control every step of the way, they are given co-ordinates, which they follow and match , (DSMAC) , TERCOM can and is used for navigation, and for those navigation, once over the target area,shoot
