We are simply deceiving ourselves by thinking we can just exercise patient with anyone to come and rebuild the team for us
Even if we are going to exercise patient with a coach let their be limit or boundary that can't be crossed within a specific period of time
Chelsea’s defensive situation this season is a full-blown crisis but not without a reason;
5 games into the Xabi Alonso era.
10 goals scored.
12 conceded.
0 clean sheets.
That’s the worst defensive record in the Premier League. Only Ipswich have shipped more, and they’ve played fewer games in some counts.
Chelsea are 10th with 7 points. Entertaining? Yes. Solid? Nowhere near and needs improvement.
4 wins, 3 draws across all competitions,Andoni Iraola start at Liverpool has been much better as many people criticize him for, some draws were frustrating as it were games that Liverpool normally wins but you can't fault a coach trying to find his footing on his first ever big managerial role and also the fact of how much players Liverpool lost at the end of the season. The game against Bournemouth showed signs of what is to come-high intensity pressing and preventing opponents from controlling the ball for too long. He needs time.
When Ballon d’Or contenders start campaigning like politicians — “vote for me,” “I deserve it,” dedicating trophies to continents for votes — the award dies a little.
Yamal and Mbappé turning pure football into electioneering sets a toxic precedent. Next year every nominee will run PR machines instead of letting performances speak.
The Ballon d’Or was meant to reward greatness on the pitch, not the best campaign strategist. The decision body must stop this before it becomes permanent and reoccurring precedent.
🚨🔵Being in a better team doesn’t automatically make you a better player.
Take Konsa and Lacroix, for example. Konsa has the benefit of playing in a well-drilled Arsenal side, while Lacroix is part of a Chelsea defence that has struggled badly this season.
If you switched their teams, would we really be having the same conversation? Konsa could be conceding more at Chelsea, while Lacroix could potentially be keeping more clean sheets in Arsenal’s organised defence.
Same thing with Tzolis and Rogers. You can’t simply say Tzolis is better because Arsenal are top of the table. A team’s position doesn’t automatically determine an individual player’s quality.
There are Chelsea players better than some Arsenal players, just as there are Arsenal players better than some Chelsea players. Football isn’t that simple.
Look at Martínez too. Conceding goals at Chelsea doesn’t suddenly make him a bad goalkeeper. The team in front of a player, the system, defensive organisation and overall form all matter.
Judge the player, not just the team around him.
Levi has just came back from an ACL injury, of course his start to season was not going to be perfect. Add the fact there is no protection from the midfield.
Nowhere near good enough from Levi but with the context, it’s hardly a shock.
I think Reece will be better in midfield when we are not playing transition football and so far that's the type of ball we are playing under Alonso except last match against Brentford where we tried to keep the ball in the first half and James wasn't in that game
Hopefully, when everyone is fit we can have clear picture of our weaknesses
