Congratulations my dear brother and friend Ahmed Shide Mohamed for being elected as the Speaker of House of People’s Representatives of Ethiopia.
As people who were on the margins of national politics for so long, the implications of this momentous political development is not lost on us.
The conscious decision to shift our political strategy from sulking on the periphery to claiming the center is bearing fruit, thanks to Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s support, understanding and vision.
Indeed, we are now becoming the mainstream in the national body politic and that bodes well for national cohesion and unity.
I congratulate Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed on his re-election. During his time in office, the Prime Minister has set the country on an irreversible course of change — the most notable being steps towards genuine federalism, religious freedom, and economic transformation.
The Prime Minister has also been the architect of major national initiatives that will benefit both current and future generations, including Green Legacy, urban redevelopment & renewal, security sector reform, and national programs on agriculture sector transformation, food security and self-reliance, as well as industrial capacity development.
The people of Somali Regional State, in particular, have a unique appreciation for and admiration of Dr. Abiy Ahmed and his tenure, a time when the region transitioned from being a human-abattoir to a region where its people live in peace and freedom.
Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister.
@Abdirahmanahmd Your observation is accurate. The same TPLF-linked actors who once oversaw repression, illegal detentions, and humiliation in the Somali region are now recycling their old tactics of distortion and destabilization. They may shout loudly today, but they cannot rewrite
@Mustafe_M_Omer Your Excellency, Your principled leadership in defending the dignity of the Somali people and standing for an Ethiopia built on justice, equality and honest reconciliation remains both timely and necessary.
Insularity, arrogance, and playing victim are the most defining characteristics of the militarist TPLF and its cohorts. The very same ethnocratic clique that murdered millions of Ethiopians in its brutal 27 years of misrule, that conducted systematic human rights violations bordering ethnic cleansing in Somali Region, and that ransacked and raped Amhara civilians 5 years ago, often talk about “Tigray genocide”, without any shame or regret. The day justice is finally served, the worst offenders of human rights will be those who, today, are pointing fingers at others.
Congratulations, Your Excellency, on the successful launch of the Somali MESOB in Jigjiga . A major step forward in strengthening efficient, citizen-centered service delivery in the Somali Region.
Together with H.E Aklilu Tadesse, State Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister, we launched the Somali MESOB in Jigjiga, a one-stop center that will enhance service-delivery.
I held comprehensive discussions with President Vladimir Putin on various sectors, including energy, agriculture, healthcare development, and defense cooperation. Notably, we deliberated on shared interests, including the signing of agreements to jointly develop a nuclear power plant to provide clean energy for societal benefit.
@Mustafe_M_Omer A commendable milestone — these transformative projects will greatly enhance access to essential services and further uplift the well-being of the Togwachale community. Thanks H.E President @Mustafe_M_Omer
@Mustafe_M_Omer Thank you, Your Excellency—Abdi Haybe courageous testimony is a powerful step toward truth, healing, and justice and marks an inspiring shift toward a written legacy that preserves history and empowers future generations.
Regarding Mineral Fertilisers and Gas Production
Ethiopia is a country with vast mineral potential—among the richest in Africa. However, for many years, the sector lacked focused leadership and a clear vision that could have significantly contributed to the national economy. Today, we are working to change that. Last year, Ethiopia exported 37 tons of gold. This year, thanks to sustained effort and strategic attention, we achieved an unprecedented export value of 3.5 billion dollars. This marks a significant milestone in the country's mineral development. In the gas sector, progress had long been stalled as companies were unable to secure licenses and begin operations. That is now changing. Ethiopia will soon begin marketing its gas products, demonstrating that we are not just resource holders but active participants. Additionally, the construction of a major fertiliser factory is set to begin soon. Once completed, it will be fully operational within 40 months, playing a key role in supporting Ethiopia’s agricultural productivity and reducing reliance on imports.

In line with the goal of providing basic services to rural communities, today, in the presence of Dr. Abraham Belay, Minister of Irrigation & Lowlands, a water supply project and a 40km gravel road project are inaugurated in Bilcilbuur district of Jarar Zone. With 24hr electricity supply and telecommunication network already installed earlier this year, Bilcilbuur’s transformation is having a positive ripple effect on the vast pastoral livelihoods that surround it, by enhancing access to markets and livestock productivity.
