I would be interested in playing Deadlock long-term only if the rumored Risk of Rain mode is true because I’m a baby that plays all my games on controller and I’m not sweaty enough to buildcraft to play a MOBA most of the time. I love everything else about it though.
@_Beskar I’m unsure we get any new Star Wars title past Jedi 3 from EA, they have shifty new owners now and working with Disney means huge licensing costs that eat into a ton of profits. That would be amazing though, and I’d love for some version of that Mando game to see the light of day
@EckhartsLadder Please keep up this fight Eck, the idea of restarting Halo from scratch AGAIN is nauseating and the idea of having to untangle 343’s spaghetti lore is just as bad. CE-Reach is just fine, normies love and understand it great. Don’t ruin a great base when 343 did already.
@DeekeTweak There’s an anime inspiration to the art style that’s been lost since Reach, the Legends anthology film tapped into that and we haven’t seen a meaningful nod to it since
I actually like 4 and Infinite’s campaigns, but 3 mainline games in a row with narrative decisions that bat a worse average than the SW sequel trilogy are not worth saving. Not even those two are super widely beloved to begin with
You you know what is? 5 campaigns and a Halo War
I’ve yet to see any compelling argument as to why the next Halo shouldn’t just retcon everything 4 onwards and work from there but everybody who wants to keep it sure feels very strongly about it
@spumdonor He wanted it entirely in 2D and couldn’t get it to happen, and this was when Apple was throwing money away! At this point the conversation around western animation has to acknowledge there is functionally a cartel of executives who don’t even want safer studio fare to evolve.
Halo’s about to have the StarFox 64 problem happen
- Combat Evolved releases
- Combat Evolved Anniversary releases
- Both re-release on MCC
- Campaign Evolved remakes it
And if you wanna get REALLY pedantic, Infinite’s campaign is a spiritual reboot of one specific part of CE.
There’s no reason for a future Halo team to reboot anything that isn’t just from Halo 4 and beyond. There’s nothing that needs to be explained again or modernized in the Bungie titles. They’re great as is. The confusion really just all began at 4. It’s like remaking Star Wars OT.
