My darling YA Critical Theory Reading Group, the promised YA announcement is live on Slack!
For the rest of you, cryptic tweet -- I'll share more soon! <3 #YAstudies@YALMCa_
🎉 It's reading group week! 🎉
On Thu, the YA Critical Theory reading group will discuss (via Zoom) @MarilisaJimenez's ‘En(Countering) YA: Young Lords, Shadowshapers, & the Longings & Possibilities of Latinx Young Adult Literature’.
6/7pm GMT/BST
DM's open for info! @YALMCa_
YA Twitter, I'm working on compiling a Thing™. Could you let me know of any journals that are open to criticism on YA? (I know of a bunch, but I don't want to miss anything! So, if you want to tell me the obvious - do!) @YALMCa_#yalit
We are seeking a reviewer for "Nerds, Goths, Geeks, and Freaks: Outsiders in Chicanx and Latinx Young Adult Literature" (edited by Trevor Boffone & Cristina Herrera) for our first issue. Would you be interested? Retweets welcome.
After months and months of work behind the scenes, we are so excited to be able to share IJYAL with you all. Follow us, tweet us, retweet us, and shout about us far and wide in the YA community.
Our first issue will be available later this year. It features articles from leading scholars in the field which discuss the current state of YA literature studies AND a special section which continues important dialogues originating in the @BeingHumaninYA symposium.
Imagine how exciting it would be to scroll through your Twitter feed and come across a brand new academic journal devoted to the study of young adult literature...
In case you missed last week's YA Critical Theory Reading Group, @Le_phill is hosting another session this Thursday at 12-noon BST.
