The summer of 2026 is over ...
the season when a massive divide began to become obvious
between two sets of people who claim they love Dancehal and/or Reggae
in one side
the elder ones who KNOW a lot of older music they grew up to, AND appreciate the craft from before their own days .... but ... they don't spend much time to get familiar with the new stuff at all - but still feel it's ok to dismiss the new music without even listening to any of it's hits . . .
vs
the other side
the ones who clearly don't KNOW much at all about old music .. some of em Google (and find out what little Google really knows) and go make content out of it - mostly half accurate.
while some others don't even care ... those (mostly young) ones insist : it doesn't even matter to know much about the music's past.
Who loses out ?
The music does (new and old) ...
and a lot of artists who SHOULD be getting talked about (young and older) are ignored
The ones who deserve praise for their talent and consistent quality works in this decade (regardless of age) but hardly get any proper exposure
Dancehall and Reggae are ONE and always will be.
Let's all agree to start puttin some respect on ALL the people who mek it what it is... artists, musicians, videomakers, and producers
Instead of wasting everyboy's time arguing about who is "more royal" than the other ... #EeediatTing
