Your eyes can now adjust to the light 👁️
There's a new Scene adaptive exposure option in the options menu. Instead of one fixed brightness, the camera reads the world in front of you and eases its exposure up or down as you move through fog, lamplight and shadow, much like your eyes would.
Each kind of place keeps its own limits, so dungeons stay dark and every area keeps its mood. Only the world is measured, never your menus or HUD, and an exposure compensation slider lets you nudge it brighter or darker. Nothing changes unless you turn it on.
Also new, for players with a supported NVIDIA RTX card and ray tracing turned on: an experimental neural reconstruction option for ray-traced lighting. It's off by default and only works in some places, and the options menu shows whether it's active.
The picture shows the same misty spot in Wickford with Authored exposure on the left and Scene adaptive on the right.
