Let's be clear, I'm hyper critical of the failings of the US government, because the people of the US deserve better.
All people, in all nations deserve a society free from violence, free from drug overdose, free from fear, with free or affordable health care and education at all levels (including university and trade schools).
People deserve guaranteed economic rights, where working a full time job pays enough to afford housing, food, and personal dignity, without fear of perpetual debt. People deserve to live in a nation with high quality infrastructure, and excellent public transportation.
Currently, the US has none of these.
Therefore, when I am extremely critical of the US government, and the rich elites buying our nation's leaders, or when I show how other countries have these things, its because I think every American deserves better.
When I meet Americans in China, we're always friends. Americans, and all the people of the world, everywhere, deserve a better world. That's what I want.
That is reflected in my work as a journalist.
