“Every beam of white moonlight was like the snow on his sleeves, every rising sun like the warmth in his eyes. Later on, he’d seen Chu Wanning’s silhouette in the vermillion clouds by the horizon, in the cerulean light of dawn, in the surging, billowing clouds.”

@essosgrimreaper it also reframes how all three of her handmaids frame the moon as bowing to the masculine might of the sun, as the moon rises when the sun sets
in a discussion about whether or not dragons are all dead, doreah opens her story with “dragons came from the moon” and then immediately identifies dany as the moon, as a hint that dragons will come from dany
this is a key difference between dany and viesrys and why one succeeds and the other fails. where dany sees wonders and treasures from diverse and varied lands, all viserys sees is death and trash
viserys gets a “golden crown” as befitting a traditional dragon, but dany, the subversive version of a dragon, gets a three-headed dragon crown in onyx, ivory, and jade... but no gold
in asos dany iii, irri and jhiqui unchain rhaegal and viserion without even needing prompting from dany, and dany then commands all three dragons in battle. it's a clear hint for/foreshadowing for how the other two heads of the dragon will be in sync with dany, perhaps even share
sighs, if only you had a competent writer who could've made you the actual rhaenys and visenya to dany (as the initial framing in agot suggests, irri and jhiqui are variations of them with dany as aegon)
@jinsoulfaguette he definitely wouldn’t 😭 especially given that irri and jhiqui are woc. but it’d be so thematically cohesive for three princess turned slaves turned freed women to all be dragon riders, conquerors, and leaders
@exnerys a lot of them already have started to, from what i’ve noticed 👀 curious to see how they’ll deal with the inevitable overtaking of their fave once they let this happen
@exnerys hit the nail on the head 😭 but this group will still also try to use it for their own content as well so i’ll be looking forward to the arguments
“Dany liked the strangeness of the Eastern Market too, with all its queer sights and sounds and smells. She often spent her mornings there, nibbling tree eggs, locust pie, and green noodles” […] “The Eastern Market was a place of wonder and magic for Dany.”
the three phases of dany's arc: the zeus imagery (stormborn, dany's childhood), the stone kings on their throne (dany's war phase, commencing after she wakes dragons from stone), maidens draped in flowers (her love/humanity phase), juxtaposed with the antagonists she'll face
sort of interesting how the monsters are in reverse order: chronologically, the manticore is from qarth, the roaring griffin is joncon and young griff, the black iron dragon with jewels for eyes is euron
@flowerbee1510 it's always struck me as bizarre as well but then when you see the big deal people make on here about being blocked/softblocked/unfollowed, it does make sense
