‼️ Facebook announced it is rebuilding its app into TikTok later this year. Funny, because in 2022 Meta paid a Republican consulting firm to plant anti-TikTok stories in local and regional press, casting it as a danger to American kids. Meta confirmed the contract.

Later this year, Facebook will open straight into full-screen video, and the Classic Feed will drop to tab two. It will be opt-out, not opt-in.

‼️🚨 Facebook wants your face, again. Starting tomorrow, a video selfie gets you a Facebook Verified badge. Facial recognition matches it against your existing profile photos.

This follows Google last week: it seems as if the new age-verification laws have spurred Big Tech to start rolling out intrusive ID-verification methods.

Meta deleted more than a billion faceprints in 2021 and settled Texas's facial recognition case for $1.4 billion in 2024.

‼️ Hang in there, it gets worse: MECCHA CHAMELEON's Discord server was taken over after malware infected a system engineer’s PC and compromised an administrator account, allowing the attacker to bypass two-factor authentication and remove staff members from the server.

Community members have now created a new Discord server.

The developer says the infected device was a spare testing machine with no access to the game’s source files. It also denies claims reportedly circulated through the compromised server that the latest patch contains malware.

‼️ Steam is hosting malware again, this time in a custom map for the game MECCHA CHAMELEON

Loading the map quietly writes a Windows command file into the player's Documents folder, which then opens PowerShell in an invisible window and tries to download a second script from a server.

The dropped file was recovered. The second stage 404'd, so nobody knows what it does yet. We're working on that.

There are a few spammers on X that have been pivoting their strategy for the last 6 months.

One of the them (“This guy is a great trader ⬇️”) has pivoted a total of 40 times after each method has been blocked.

Some of the techniques are so creative and fast that it feels like they’re sitting right next to us.

At this point, we might as well hire them because they are just as familiar with the X codebase as us.
