Problem is Djibouti by itself is not enough for #Ethiopia’s growing economy. Moreover, given the dangerous Red Sea area, we have to have a naval base to secure access “to-and-from the sea”. So 100% by Djibouti is not enough. Sorry, try harder.

#Ethiopia has always extended an olive branch to Egypt, sharing the Nile waters with grace and responsibility. Yet, Egypt has repaid us with nothing but betrayal; plotting against us, fueling conflicts, and attempting to cripple our nation through proxy wars backing our adversaries within and around and so on....
Egypt’s old aged lust for control over the Nile source has driven them to relentless aggression against Ethiopia, and their latest focus on #Somalia is just another chapter in this long saga of interference.
Had the tables been turned & Egypt controlled the source, God only knows what they'd do to us. Fortunately, by divine justice, the Nile was destined to flow from Ethiopia & we rose above, to defend it.
I believe #Egypt would do well to reconsider its tactics and dangerous games, for the consequences they face will be severe & unavoidable if they continue down this treacherous path. ..!!

#Ethiopia rescued #Somalia from the ashes and transformed #Djibouti's economy. And remarkably, its 'strategic kindness' paved the way for #Eritrea to achieve its long-cherished dream of independence. Should Ethiopia scale back its involvement, the repercussions could be profound. Eritrea is already devastated, might find its situation worsening. Djibouti's economy, could plummet without the annual 2 billion $$ from Ethiopia port fee( over 70% of its GDP). Somalia would be dominated by terrorists without the stabilizing influence of Ethiopian forces. This is why I dare to say, Ethiopia is not just part of the Horn; it is the Horn. it's its foundation. it is the creator. Ethiopia is a colossal force,its the titan, immune to intimidation, and destruction. its undeniable hegemon; its demands for sea access can't be denied!! Its just a matter of time!

The most common question I receive about Eritrea and #Ethiopia's maritime access is: "Why do Eritreans, especially Shabia activists, react so strongly to sea access discussions?" It's simple: #Eritrea was established on hatred towards Ethiopia. That's the core reason! If you think otherwise, let's debate! However, I'm not saying all Eritreans feel this way.
