I am furious.
Our son was murdered by a man whose violent and vicious history and risks were repeatedly missed.

Now we learn that another mentally ill man with a fixation on us and the Nottingham case travelled to Somerset, including our home town, seeking out victims' families; and the police chose not to tell us.

@nottspolice knew. The @policeconduct knew.

Yet nobody thought Barnaby's family deserved a warning.
Nobody thought Charlie's school deserved safeguarding advice.
Nobody thought we had a right to know.

Is this even legal? Isn’t this within 'Osman warning'.

As @drsanjoykumar points out in the story; the Calocane family were heaped with additional support and resources, including CCTV to make them safe.

Let me introduce you to a brave hero from my country, Iran.

She was 16 years old. Just a girl. And on the streets of Iran, she did something braver than most people do in a lifetime: she took off her hijab and burned it in public. Right in front of the regime. Right in front of the world.

That was her crime: civil disobedience. A teenage girl refusing to obey men who claimed authority over her hair, her body, her life.

Her message spoke for millions of Iranian women:

To every man who rules over women in the name of religion, honor, or culture: We do not obey you. Your laws were never made for us.

This is what real power looks like: unarmed, unafraid, unbowed.

For that defiance, she was arrested. Her family says she was tortured and killed after falling into the hands of security forces. The Iranian authorities denied responsibility and gave a different account of her death.

Her name was Nika Shakarami. She was 16.

Now ask yourself: How many women in the West know her name? How many know what she risked for a freedom they have never had to fight for?

We’re returning to our home town of Middlesbrough today after time away as a family.

Sadly, that’s a luxury that won’t be afforded to the two police officers - PC Matthew Blades and PC Tom Clough - who died as a result of the carnage caused by a feral few last week. As the wife of a police officer, I can’t even imagine the heartbreak of their families.

We’ve watched in shock as news has filtered through about chaos on the streets, each day bringing a new horror - including the deaths of a little girl, Valentina, and her auntie Natalie.

I do feel I need to be clear about something: these events don’t define Middlesbrough. It’s a great town - where I’m proud to live - with hardworking and caring people who are also absolutely horrified by what’s gone on.

There is a lawless minority that terrorise towns and cities across the UK - not just ours. We need to get a grip before there’s a tragic tipping point in other communities too.

I don’t have the answer, but part of it must be a zero-tolerance approach and severe consequences that actually mean something rather than just accepting this scumbag behaviour as the norm in modern Britain.

My thoughts continue to be with the good people whose lives have been destroyed in the last week.

Niloufar Esfahani is only 18 years old.

She was arrested at her family home in Qazvin on January 10, 2026, along with her mother, in connection with the January uprising. She remains detained.

Niloufar has been denied access to a lawyer and contact with her family.

NILOUFAR IS AT RISK OF EXECUTION. Multiple detainee-monitoring sources report that she was sentenced to death in February 2026, although the reported sentence and exact charges have not been independently verified.

An 18-year-old woman’s life is at risk. The criminal Islamic Republic must not be allowed to execute her. The world must act before it is too late.

"You would think that after your various children had ended a night of being on a crime spree while riding in a stolen car and terrorising the local community, and ended that criminal rampage by driving that stolen 1.5-ton car at high speed the wrong way on a dual carriageway - which ended with the obliteration of another car with two police officers inside who were travelling in the correct direction.
An obliteration that killed everyone in both cars - As one of those parents you would think that you would feel a little guilt, a little responsibility, a little sadness!
Not only for your own child but for the children who were now fatherless directly because of your childs criminal stupidity.
You would think you would feel a world of regrets and a lot of "if onlys" and "what ifs." You would think you would be forced to take a good hard long look at yourselves and ask the questions of what you could have done better as a parent ! To own up to your own failings.
But oh no, not some of the parents and relatives of these young men. They are looking to cash in and blame everyone else but their feral wannabe gangsta, idiot children, who they couldn't be arsed to parent or discipline or teach the basic rights and wrongs of normal behaviour.
For them to say that the police should have called off the chase earlier in an attempt to detain their idiotic sons - who had been involved in several criminal incidents leading up to the police finally identifying the car that they were all packed into, and who then decided to goad the police into a high-speed pursuit?
The young men in that car had previously taunted police into chasing them in various vehicles a number of times before, knowing that if they drove at high speed in built-up areas or the wrong way on busy lanes, the police would end the pursuit. Which they would then film, gloating about it all on social media platforms while wearing balaclavas, making gun signs and torching the car.
Yet these so-called parents are pointing their fingers at the police, and I am sure they are already looking for a settlement while phoning the first "where there's a blame, there's a claim" advert they could find on the internet.
They were utter shit parents, and they are now proving they are utter shit human beings as well. They deserve every bit of ridicule and condemnation that they are receiving. They can't even do the right thing by their children in death. That's how utterly fucking useless they are. "
