Check out this awesome thing we built! @jrostar and the rest of the HED team have been fun and fabulous clients on this endeavor.
It is a great example of taking a proof of concept through iterations to a user friendly tool. And we’re already talking about the next version.
If you were not able to make it to @autodesku you can check out the class I presented with @archinate, @yarnchitect, & @stevesanda discussing the HED Project Create tool.

Excited to share the ideas behind the @HEDAdvances Project Create tool at #AU2022. Had a great presentation with @ProvingGroundIO’s @archinate, @yarnchitect, & @stevesanda. Thanks for packing the room!
People will go where they feel most valued, where they can be proud of their work, and are in an environment that supports their growth.
Unfortunately, architecture firms do not tend to do this well.
@Robot_Bastard@AdriSheares In case it wasn’t clear: not trying to imply anyone who prefers videos can’t/won’t read. I just really dislike longer-format video tutorials.
I may have to try TikTok just to see if the format can change my mind about video content.
@AdriSheares This is fascinating to me.
Also an elder millennial here. I am the opposite. I will scroll past the videos in search results to get to text. I can skim read faster than it takes to watch the opening message in a YouTube video. The TikTok videos must cut out that BS. Fabulous!
@jrostar I agree.
But also, Ian is spot on that the foundations that could make it happen are historically missing from AEC. The ethos around open source code is a priceless gift that keeps on giving. It’s not just “free software”; it’s community.
@jrostar @DC_Nachtrieb I blame an emphasis on time spent - "butts in seats" - over productivity.
If you're paid to take an hour to do a thing only if it actually takes you an hour, where is the motivation to figure out how to do it in 10 minutes?
We've been working with the team at @ProvingGroundIO for a couple years to develop an amazing Project Create tool at @HEDAdvances. You can vote for our AU abstract if you want to hear us talk about it this fall!

@planetmoney So, why not just have a Yield sign instead?
If there are multiple vehicles in that intersection, then the one with a sign knows they have to wait. If not, they can continue on without coming to a full stop. Problem solved.
We are rescheduling to next week due to an unfortunate zoom bombing. That was a first for me. Kinda funny, actually.
But... I also hope it’s my last zoom bombing experience. Eww. People are crazy. 🤪🙃
