If the Tinubu government knew how much traction and popularity its actions in Kano have given the Tinubu Must Go (#TMG) movement, perhaps it would have quietly allowed us to gather peacefully and exercise our constitutional rights.

By barricading our venue with heavily armed policemen and preventing a peaceful gathering, they have amplified the very message they apparently wanted to suppress.

I have been a loyal supporter of @atiku for many years. Since I became old enough to vote, I have supported him in every election he has contested. My love and support for him have always been genuine and wholehearted.

During the 2023 election, I went to my polling unit and was offered ₦200,000 to step away from the polling process and abandon my support. I refused. I voted for Atiku at my polling unit despite the fact that, at that very moment, I did not even have ₦10,000 in my bank account. I rejected the ₦200,000 because my support for Atiku was sincere and came from the heart.

Wallahi, when the results were announced and Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared the winner, I cried. I became sick with a fever and spent about three days barely speaking. It took me some time to recover and come to terms with the result.

Even today, whenever I see a picture of the Waziri or hear him speak, I still feel happy. That is when I realize that the affection and respect I have for him are still deeply rooted in my heart.

However, despite all of this, I want to make one thing clear: I do not consider myself his enemy, but politically, we are no longer on the same side. I am currently a member of the APC, and I will support the APC candidates in my state.

Politics may change our political paths, but it does not have to erase the respect and genuine affection we have for one another.
