The AWBI SOP, if implemented in its current form, risks replacing science-based policy with measures that can lead to widespread suffering of community animals.

India already has a proven framework: ABC Rules, sterilization, vaccination, and responsible civic systems. That is the only humane, lawful, and sustainable path forward.

These dogs are not a standardized breed but a widely shared local type known for adaptability and survival in street environments.

The move is aimed at improving perception of stray dogs and supporting adoption efforts nationwide.

This beautiful Siberian Husky girl came to me a few months ago—fragile, sick, and completely blind in one eye. She was battling a severe parasitic infection, and I named her Naina 🐾❤️
With lots of love, dedicated care, and the best treatment possible, Naina slowly fought her way back to health. Today, she is thriving and has become a permanent member of my family 🏡
I never raised funds specifically for her, just as I don't for more than 90% of my rescues. They simply become my responsibility, and I do whatever I can to give them the life they deserve.
As I shared yesterday, 13th June is my birthday, and instead of gifts, my only wish is to ensure that all my rescue animals receive the best care, nutrition, and medical support for the rest of their lives ❤️
