#Kathal winning the #NationalAward is a proud and emotional moment for all of us. It was never the obvious choice. Quirky, rooted, and offbeat, but that’s exactly why we believed in it. This win belongs to the team and shows what can happen when the right people come together with heart and purpose. I cannot thank @guneetm enough. Her passion, conviction, and belief in meaningful stories have been the driving force behind this film. A big thank you to my co-producers #ShobhaKapoor and @aachinjain, and to @yashooooooo for directing it with such honesty and flair. Our cast, @sanyamalhotra07, #anantvjoshi, #VijayRaaz, and @rajpalofficial, brought the story to life beautifully. I am also truly grateful to @NetflixIndia and @shergillmonika for backing stories that take creative risks and truly resonate. This recognition reminds us that when you lead with heart, stories connect.

Incredibly honoured to receive the Best Hindi Film award for Kathal at the 71st National Film Awards.
A heartfelt congratulations to our brilliant director Yashowardhan Mishra, and his co-writers Ashok Mishra, for crafting a story that is sharp, original, and deeply human.
It's the perfect recipe: a writer's compelling story, unforgettable characters, a director's vision, the actors' skill, and of course, the dialogues that breathe life into every character!

Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery

Watched "Kathal - A Jackfruit Mystery" @Netflix last night.
"Two exotic-breed jackfruit go missing from a tree in the garden of a politician's house in a small town. Police inspector Mahima Basor @sanyamalhotra07 is assigned to the case." Nuff said😆
Loved it @Yashooooooo👏
My piece in the @IndianExpress today, inspired by the latest Netflix hit 'Kathal,' addressing the staggering challenge of tracing the thousands of children, particularly girls, that go missing in India each year.

Was pleasantly surprised by the film #Kathal. What a wonderfully crafted satire on the ridiculousness of our systems, caste, gender, esp women's struggle to balance work and caregiving. Particularly striking was the reaction of the woman protagonist& her aide to promotions. One didn't want it as it would interfere with her caregiving duties & for the other she would rather get her fiance promoted to avoid ego clashes in their relationship. I don't think I have watched a more fine film.
#kathal infuses humour into some serious social issues. And it does not get pedantic while doing it! Apt songs, witty action elevates already terse screenplay. What resonates long after watching is very positive innocence that rural India has! @Yashooooooo has nailed it.
What a brilliant movie #kathal is! Our generation from urban India was denied by Bollywood to know beauty and innocence of rural India for ages. Thanks OTT platforms that now movies like Kathal (Jackfruit) are out. Take a bow @Yashooooooo@sanyamalhotra07 and cast.
In UP's Bulandshahr, Noor Jahan, an elderly widow in her 70's was living without power. Due to acute poverty, she could not afford an electricity connection. The local police department decided to spread some smile.
#Kathal on #Netflix does not take a step wrong as it merrily pokes fun at politics, law and order, patriarchy and caste in mofussil India through a cleverly crafted story and superb performances by a talented cast. Veggie fight in the end is a riot. Must watch.
