Query planning is hard.
Doing so in a massive, sharded database is even harder.
The blog we published today at PlanetScale was a labor of love. So many people from across the company helped with technical accuracy, writing, visuals, and making it the best it can be.
This was so much fun to be a part of. Go read. Get a little better at database query planners this evening.
@HarveenChadha We all know it, AI will be used more for such devil things than good purpose. If model hallucinates Vibe coded missile will stuck on their head 😅
GPT-6 Astra + @threejs is insane. We are way beyond static models. We are engineering living worlds in code now. There are no "3D model files" in this demo. Both trains are generated at runtime from Typescript/Three.js code using dimensions, profiles, and geometry functions. Wheel motion and explode/reassemble animations are also entirely code-driven. Runs super smooth inside the browser.
Mission Success!

Dear @ReallySwara Jauhar was a tragic historical response to extreme circumstances. It deserves historical understanding, not ridicule. The women who chose Jauhar deserve the same dignity and respect for their agency that we extend to women facing comparable horrors in other periods.
Kshatriyas will continue to remember these brave women as martyrs. You have no agency to dictate us otherwise.
I had filed an RTI with the Uttarakhand Forest Department on the mass killing order issued against leopards and bears. The reply is still pending.
The only really complicated aspect of this case, as I see it, is this: the order came at a time when human deaths were already in the news. The department’s own confidential internal report itself says that capturing these animals, or even killing them, has not reduced the attacks. Then why was permission granted for mass killing?
Scientifically, the sequence should have been the opposite. First identify the individual animal. Then fit a radio collar and map the hotspots. Treat the wild herbivore base of that landscape, and treat the pressure that villages place on the forest. Firing first is not justified. Conducting the study after the shooting is foolish. This inverted priority is exactly what I object to most strongly.
In August the department announced a rapid assessment of leopards and bears across 18 sensitive divisions. That work should have been done before the order, not after it.
Animals in Uttarakhand have not suddenly become more dangerous. The core is already packed with tigers. The prey base is weak. Villages have pressed right up against the forest. And the government is trying to repair, with empty cages and bullets, a structure that was created by habitat and human pressure.
Killing 13 leopards will not remove the tiger pressure of Nainital, nor the leopard pressure of Pauri and Rudraprayag. The space will fill again.
Plan it properly. Do not take political advantage. #leopardkillingorder #uttrakhandwildlife #tigerhumanconflict #leopardhumanconflict #wildlifeofuttrakhand
Rahul Gandhi and Sandeep Dikshit’s cheap Meloni joke at the Congress convention exposes the real face of their politics. While you lecture on gender justice and women empowerment, you have no problem objectifying Italy’s first elected woman PM Giorgia Meloni for a few laughs. This shows who you are and where you are coming from.
Mocking Modi’s foreign policy is one thing but reducing a world leader to a sexist punchline exposes your vulgar minds. The same Lutyens feminists and gender warriors are suddenly silent. Selective outrage much?
This is the gutter-level politics Congress has reduced itself to. No wonder the women of our country have repeatedly left them humiliated over the last 3 elections.
At least ek discussion to ho. Bhai jinhone oppression kiya wo to chale gaye, ab kyu logo ko saja di ja rahi h..?
Ek middle class brahman ke bache ko kya mil raha h..?
Aur doosra koi reserved category se sarkari afsar banke bhi apne bache ko reservation dila deta h. Kaha ja rahe h ham isse ..? Reverse racism ke taraf. Aur problem actually unme h jo bolte nahi h. Nahi bologe to daba diye jaoge. This world is a jungle and you need to fight bhai.
I am disturbed because every protest in India seems to have the same script.
1. Abuse Lord Ram.
2. Abuse Bharat Mata.
3. Abuse PM Modi.
4. Abuse PM Modi’s late mother.
5. Abuse Brahmins.
6. Abuse Hindutva.
No discussion.
No solutions.
Only slogans, abuse, and chaos.
The opposition seems to be living under the illusion that one day they will be able to create a Nepal-like situation in India.
No trade deal with the US has even been signed yet, but some farmers are already ready to block Delhi.
This is becoming a circus.
How can a nation progress when so many people are willing to protest first and verify facts later?

Seriously !!
A water buffalo, Elephant, rhinoceroses and a TIGER from proto Elamite region. At the same time.
If a seal shows Indian megafauna, belongs to the riverine and floodplain ecosystems of the Indian subcontinent presenting Indian ecological logic. And parallels the Pashupati motif of the Indus civilization, then forcing it into some other origin says more about bias than ancient reality.
