Wrote about why I dropped NATS, Kafka and RabbitMQ from PikoCI and replaced everything with a single gRPC stream. The queue was just a doorbell anyway.

@justff777 For now no combo with environment, but it combos with mage attack pattern. Every odd move it makes a r2 aoe around him, and the blik counts as one movement so you can make more burst if combined
🎯Balancing a roguelike is a 4-way tug-of-war:
Drops ↔ Crafting (what's the better path to gear?)
Mobs ↔ Power leveling (does the curve actually scale?)
Pull one too hard, the other three break.
Iteration is the only path.

@justff777 Each class gets a specific one:
* Fighter: leap to hex and dela damage aoe
* Ranger: disengage to a hex and throw arrows on all the straight hexes
* Mage: blink to a hex and deal aoe damage and push enemies 1 tile back
All have the same 6 range
@justff777 There are 3 classes as of now(fighter, ranger and mage) i designed them so every one has uniqueness on the movement and attacks.
But all of them always have a 4th ability which is mobility. Tha one is clicked though haha. But it allows you to disengage or engage in combat
Just launched PikoCI — self-hosted CI/CD that runs as a single binary.
Inspired by Concourse, without the operational pain. Starts in memory, scales to Postgres and distributed workers. The pipeline config never changes.

🛠️ Tried to add all 6 material tiers to Hexstride in one update.
Surfaced too many bugs. Cut scope to Iron only, the rest will come gradually.

⚒️ Reworked Hexstride's loot economy.
Item drops are up — but raw materials are rarer now.
Two paths to gear: drop something useful, or craft what you actually want. Crafting is the deeper path. Every tier of gear gets real investment now.
