This creates a false sense that there’s a “safe” kind of woman to be to avoid being abused. Like if you’re strong enough, loud enough or difficult enough you can avoid harm. But violence against women cuts across personalities, classes and backgrounds. Importantly, women
I can't remember where I saw this, but there was someone who made the point that the death of the ego is actually what men need. Because men are conditioned to put their ego first and to plan all of their movements from a place of ego. So it dominates their thinking, and they have to kill it off in order to access their intuition.
What women need, however, is to build ego. Because women are conditioned to be self sacrificing, and to put their needs last. So male self-help books don't work for women because women are coming from a place of self abnegation. What heals women is to EMBRACE ego: To make a claim to what's around them and establish and accept their own individuality and preferences.
I think Elizabeth Gilbert said this? Not sure though.
Tamera moving the hair, Loni’s sway and nod, Jeannie’s “oh my gawwwd,” Adrienne doing everything but making direct eye contact, the thump of the mic on Tamar’s chest, the cut to the lady just DISTRAUGHT in the audience
Genuinely some of the best 27 seconds you’ll ever watch
Showmax is a good case study on why South African film&TV makers must be supported in owning IP. Local content that was licensed may continue to benefit SA beyond the switch off. But commissioned content now belongs to the French to do with what they like. That’s SA archive gone.
We’re not talking about Masali Baduza’s success enough. Born and bred in East London, South Africa. Gracing our screen on one of the biggest shows in the world, Bridgerton.
I’m so chuffed about her! ♥️
I feel like petrol no longer smells as much as it used to when I was a child. Has anyone else noticed that? When I was younger the smell of petrol was small and pungent. People even claimed to be addicted to it. Now I dont recall it much even though I'm at the garage weekly
Bafazi, as we are nearing the National 16 Days of activism for no violence against women and children campaign (29 November-10 December) can we keep the colour purple on our profiles? Please 🥹🥺🥺💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The lights on the bridge by Grayston Drive is on for the first time in years. It’s actually heart-breaking sometimes when you realise what the State could do if there was any political will.
I always go back to the clip that says “a good man is an average woman” and I agree cos WTF is this??? He’s taking care of HIS child. It’s just called parenthood 😭😭✋🏽✋🏽✋🏽
