The man managed to stay afloat on a small island in the middle of the turbulent flow of dirty water. The elephant, undeterred by the strong current, approached the man to help, and extended its trunk. The man climbed onto the elephant's head and was able to get to safety.

However, according to the Yahoo website, the video showing the elephant saving the man was not filmed during the flood in Nepal. The clip was actually filmed in India more than two weeks earlier

Muhammad Sadiq Bey dianggap sebagai orang pertama yang mendokumentasikan Haramain Asy-Syarifain melalui foto. Berkat karya perintis ini, ia dianugerahi Medali Emas pada Pameran Geografi Venesia tahun 1881.

Foto ini diambil menggunakan teknik Wet-Plate Collodion, salah satu metode paling canggih pada masanya. Dalam gambar tersebut, terlihat kiswah (penutup) bersejarah Kabah Al-Muazzamah serta area horizontal Masjidil Haram sebelum perluasan modern, masih sangat sederhana.
